Vikings and norse mythology set in a fantasy world
As the headline says. This is a book with vikings and Norse mythology set in a fantasy world. And it is absolutely amazing.I loved each second of this book. I love how you get the world building gradually. The special way magic works. The story is phenomenal, and the characters are amazing. And I simply love the universe. The story takes place, and I can't wait to find out more

Awesome, though has some editing issues
Unique storyline and fae fantasy. A little mystery surrounding both main characters and their back stories.Main female character is feisty, smart, with a good heart. The main male character is strong, dark, but possibly a good heart🤣 They are both struggling on their journeys but seem to be fated to fight their plights together, and possibly more. Romance? No, but some adult sexual content, very brief. This a page turner & a quick read. Wish the editing was better. Some sentences made no sense, no matter how many times I re-read it! Good thing the storyline is so interesting! The only other thing I don’t like is the cliffhanger! Now I have to wait MONTHS before the next book is released. :(

not what I expected
Really good story. I loved the mystery and characters and the mystery of the characters. The Prince has secrets, Reyna has secrets and you know one of them is going to get in to trouble. Terrible cliffhanger! Now I need to read the next book. Definitely worth the read and it’s an easy read too

Stubborn, insufferable ‘heroine’. Nice world building
I understand why there are 4K readers for the first book, and only 1K readers for the second book. I’m debating on whether to continue this series. Reyna is stubborn, talks before she thinks then thinks about what she should have said/done instead afterwards, and quite insufferable in how her brain processes information. I’m actually understanding of her being snarky and aggressive because of her background. I just can’t handle how she sees actual evidence and then thinks the complete opposite of what the evidence is. It’s not until 61% of the way into the book where Reyna becomes semi-bearable (e.g., shuts her stupid mouth and starts observing). But then it’s always one step forward, two steps back for her. She hasn’t shown any character development throughout this book. One steamy scene around 70% in - it’s actually pretty good. Wish there were more. The Prince seems hot but Reyna’s inability hold a decent conversation prevents the reader from getting to know the Prince.Book 1 spends a lot of time world building, and it’s actually pretty interesting. Lots of mystery of who’s trying to kill her, who her allies are, what is the ‘key’, what’s the Prince’s secret, what’s Reyna’s background, and all of these are unanswered because the book leaves you on a cliffhanger. I guess I can just read the second book and skip through the parts that bore me just so I can finish it… there’s a Book 3 - Reading Gods, help me.

Great story had me right from the start
I have a son with autism so after I get him to bed I read - it’s my escape time - my time to relax with a good book. I read a lot and it’s hard for me to find books that click right away - this book did that - had me engaged right from the start - can’t wait to read the next one.

What is happening?
What is happening? That's all I can think after reading this book. It ends on a cliffhanger, but honestly, we still don't know what the eff is going on.This wasn't A bad story so far, although I found Reyna's constant contradictory attitude to be annoying and incredibly stupid more often than not.It really just didn't make sense considering her and her friends could be killed, tortured or some other horrible thing at any time should their masters choose it.However, despite all of that, I did enjoy this book. Was it a favorite? No, but I liked the combination of Norse mythology based world of full of Fey, humans, and all kinds of other creatures.

Good storyline
This had a good basis for a book series, but the amount of grammatical errors was truly annoying. It really makes a difference between a good book and a great book if the editing is done well. I hate getting stuck on a sentence because a word was left out or repeated and this happened consistently throughout this book.

what?!
Ok so the cliff hanger at the end?! So not nice. The book however is amazing. It was so good and so well written, the pace was amazing that I binged it in a day. It honestly was a quick real but not in the way I expected. There was so much going on but it keeps you so enthralled in the story you don’t realize how quickly you’re reading through the book. I also love the Norse mythology elements and am a sucker for any book that has those vibes. Such a good book and now I’m off to find the second one. I must know what happens next!

Something is coming, time to run.
First off, this book starts with a pronunciation page which I found extremely useful. Second a beautifully illustrated map of the world, this is something that instantly drew my attention. The book itself is seriously good, from the amazing characters to the intensely dark setting. One of my favourite things is the norse mythology integrated into the storyline, I haven't read any books by this author until this one but I do have several of her books. This is absolutely my type of story, with terrifying Fae and dark magic to the slow burn romance. It ends on a cliffhanger which I honestly don't mind, I have already decided that I will be pre ordering this entire series. I can't wait for book 2 now, I am confident it will be every bit as exciting as book 1 was.

muito lento
O livro tem muito potencial, mas passa trocentas páginas e não desenvolve praticamente nada e a personagem principal é muito sem carisma, ela n tem poder, nem uma inteligência nem nada. Só é chata e respondona
