I think 8 weeks is ok for holding these shake n rattle, by 3 months my granddaughter wasn't really interested in these as she'd progressed onto noisier ones. They are very safe and ok to bite on the soft fabric, just making a soft noise.

How can you clean the cloth bit?

I run it under the tap and use a little bit of detergent then rinse and dry.
