Spoons fall through the holes
I wanted something that was easier to clean than the closed in plastic cutlery holders and this isBUT 1. It is too tall to hook onto my drainerAnd. 2. The spoons fall out the holes

Problems with this one
The rack looks good and fits on the side of the rack (it wont hold itself up so will not work on raised racks) then there's 2 problems; the first is that the water sits underneath it because it has to rest on something underneath, so now after less than a week, it has started to rust. Secondly, there are 3 compartments but the compartments separating sections are made with too wide apart gaps so that when you put a tea spoon or small knife etc in it it falls through getting stuck lying at a funny angle, sometimes you have to wrestle with them to get them out, then it tips over and is annoying. Also the bottom racks should have been put closer together as things fall over as they don't sit well. Might send it back as it does have a 12 month guarantee but is it worth the hassle? and do I want another one that will rust in a week...not really.

Does the job
Holes in the bottom are too big but otherwise perfectly fine piece of kit.

Cutlery slides out holes
The holes along the sides at the bottom are large and cutlery falls through, either entirely or halfway out. This means various cutlery items are poking out all around the cutlery-holder and aren't draining properly. It looks a mess and (crucially) fails to allow correct drainage.I would not recommend buying this; even larger items like wooden spoons and spatulas fall out through the edges at the bottom half the time you put them in. It's not fit for purpose. If you still decide to buy it for some other usage, in terms of quality, it is sturdy, well-made, and looks sleek and attractive.

Could do better
As others have pointed out, the mesh on the bottom is too loose so the cutlery falls through. I don't know how they make the knives stand so nicely in there on the product image, mine all stick through, blunting the sharp end. But the low price and free postage for this item made me to give it 3 stars. In the images there is the old holder, which was part of the stand, but has got rusty and weak, so I needed to replace it with something similar. There you can see it can be done better. Unfortunately I did not find anything similar to this product on the web for a reasonable price, some others charge even 3x more for the same design or even make as this new one.Updated: I threw it to the bin. It became rusty and actually not needed anymore. Standing stainless steel cup (even plastic one) is better if you have the extra space around the drier.

Cutlery drainer
The only reason I have given this a four stars overall is because it would be better if it was stainless steel. I have had this before and they go rusty after a time but no one makes a stainless steel versionand thee design is ok although cutlery handles do slip through the sides if you don't put them in straight. Manufacturers please take note!

Rubbish.
I thought I would ignore the reviews ( because only angry people write reviews right?) I was so wrong. This is bloody awful. I have pretty chunky midrange cutlery from ikea and every single bit falls through the gap and out the edge. A fork actually got stuck it it the other day. When cutlery isn't getting stuck in it, it is busy falling off of my dish rack as it is just a little bit to tall and the hooks are just a little bit too small. My dish rack is pretty big so I am not sure what this is built for? May a giant's dish rack? I gave it 2 stars because it hasn't rusted yet and it hasn't got grubby like the plastic racks.

Avoid this drainer!
This has multiple problems. Firstly, the hooks are too high for our draining rack so it cannot be attached to the side of the rack as we intended.Secondly, despite the claim in the listing that it can be used as a freestanding item, we found that it constantly topples over - and as some cutlery slips through the holes, it has to be emptied before you can stand it up again.Thirdly, the cutlery that slips through the holes either falls through completely or else gets stuck and needs patient wiggling to be freed.Fourthly, because the drainer has no feet and cannot be suspended from the draining rack, its base sits in the puddle of water produced by the wet cutlery and it has gone rusty.Do not waste your money on this.

Martha H,
