A Rugged and Reliable Timepiece
This G-Shock GW-7900B-1ER embodies the brand's reputation for resilience. Its shock-resistant construction, crafted from high-impact resin, can withstand even the most demanding environments.Beyond its rugged exterior, this watch boasts impressive functionality. Solar-powered, it eliminates the need of battery replacements, ensuring years of uninterrupted operation. Additionally, its atomic timekeeping technology synchronizes with radio waves from atomic clocks, providing strong accuracy. Its large, the black digital display is stylish even if sometimes not that clear to read but hold on, this happens not too often so I don't see this as a big problem for me but is understandle that for someone could be a critical aspect for a watch.Pros:Unwavering durabilitySolar-powered operationAtomic timekeeping technologyComfortable resin bandCons:Relatively bulky designNegative display not for all

Easy watch to use.
My main concern was that this watch would be insanely huge, but is not, though is certainly a good bit deeper than a standard case. I am a big bloke but it wouldn't look overly large on medium wrists, and the strap design would accommodate all sizes. It sits very securely, without feeling over-tight.I usually dread having to set these devices up, but it was a breeze. I had watched a YT video prior to purchase, but find the manual supplied very easy to understand indeed. The battery level was already at Medium, and soon charged to high whilst I worked outside. It was displaying the right time out of the box, but I followed the instructions and set the location and manually received an atomic time signal, not wanting to have to wait for the scheduled night time event. Reception in rural Wales is excellent, and now it auto updates successfully at 02.02.I was attracted to this watch for the tide graph, and i haven't been disappointed. It was easy to set high water time for my location, and the graph is easy to read, and tells you what you need to know. I like being able to scroll through and remind myself what time high water is- I have given up taking phones out when I'm in water, having sunk a few, and the buttons on this are easy to use with wet, fishy hands. The moon function is of less use to me, as I'm nearly always aware what stage it's at anyhow. Nevertheless it tells you what you need to know, simply. The other functions are of less interest to me, but as it is so easy to operate I may conceivably use the stopwatch for a boiled egg, but for anything more important I prefer the volume of my phone's alarm.Everything just works well on this, hopefully Casio will have addressed the decorative studs falling out issue by now. I don't find the negative display at all hard to read, unlike many- shame that you just can't toggle between the two though.I have never spent this much on a watch, but in the past five years I've had three non-G-shock Casios, which have been tough, but not tough enough. On top of that the battery is fifteen quid to change, and changing day/date etc drives me to strong drink. I've seen YT videos where this watch survives to an equivalent pressure at 600m, which I find reassuring- if they find my corpse my family get a working watch back! Heaven forbid.......

Amazing work watch but style comes with a big price premium.
There are so many reviews online of this watch that the spec hardly bears repeating but what do I think? Classic G-Shock case design though slightly oversized to make it appear bulletproof. Makes it hard to slide slim or tailored cuffs over it due to the increased height. Despite the size it doesn't actually look too big on the wrist and is very comfortable due to the additional 'wings' covering where the strap meets the case. Multiband 6, Tough Solar and the usual G-Shock features mean it is a watch that is truly accurate and should need virtually no maintenance. Looks fabulous in the black with the negative LCD. After reading the reviews I was actually surprised how easy it was to read. I can see it isn't for everyone but combined with the automatic backlight I have never had a single issue reading the display. Due to the darker display it is perhaps slightly more affected by reflections but with the right light the digits really stand out just like the photos. The only disadvantage worth noting is that you pay a big price premium over the standard watch to have the black version. It was a style choice for me in the end and I am glad I made it but it is hard to justify the extra money for any other reason. I assume it is so much more because this model isn't a UK official watch (it doesn't appear in the Casio UK website) but rather one destined for other markets.
