I bought this to use with a homemade ac and heater. Works great and seems to be good quality, but it is aluminum so do not use tap water because the minerals will cause it to corrode over time, use distilled water or if being used as intended, proper coolant.

I use this exchanger to heat small quantities of water (about 1 gal at a time) to serve my routine hand washing and even bathing (ex. Geyser system) using a single burner backpacking type propane burner and small 12v diaphragm pump to have water circulate through the exchanger. the efficiency of heat extraction is amazing -- I can have a moderate burner flame under the exchanger (pump ON of course to circulate water -- NEVER DO THIS WITHOUT HAVING CIRCULATING WATER -- think of this as a mini nuclear reactor setup where you never expose the core!) and put my hand just above the exchanger and it's barely warm so I'd estimate >90% heat extraction efficiency. I typically heat up the water to about 120F and this serves me for most routine hot/warm water needs. VERY WATER CONSERVING especially if you "boondock" with an RV. I also bought as a comparison the Dracaena 120mm - 28mm/1.1 inch Thick Computer Radiator, 14 Tubes Copper Water Cooling heat exchanger. this is much more expensive but I think is higher quality (weighs about 50% more for the same 120mmx120mm size) and it has 14 tubes instead of 12 tubes like this cheaper model. note that the fin spacing on this model is VERY TIGHT which may partly explain it's excellent heat transfer. I think it's a very good heat exchanger especially for the price. the port fittings are also integrated into the construction -- the more expensive model requires separate "plugs" for the ports.

I made a chiller unit with it. I installed it into the lid of a cooler with a fan and pump to make a chiller. It works great.

Works great, I placed a fan in front of it and it seems to hold up really well. I'm using it for my cpu and it keeps it cool. Mine came with a slightly damaged fitting but the hose still slipped over and worked just fine.

I bought this for a little project. I was working on and was very pleased.
