Hori Hori Garden Knife Japanese Stainless Steel, 7'' Durable Gardening Tool for Weeding, Digging, Cutting & Planting with Leather Sheath

I recently purchased the Rakukiri Hori Hori Stailess Steel Garden Tool. It’s well balanced and the wooden handle is comfortable to hold for extended use. It’s a fine addition to the garden. Sturdy construction and should last forever.

This is a wonderful gardening tool, so much better than a trowel! I used it today to plant 15 bulbs. It has a serration on one edge so it cuts through roots etc faster and more easily than a trowel. And it has measurements so you can plant the bulbs to the exact depth of the planting instructions. Very fast and easy, and it comes with a sheath, making it very easy to store neatly after you wipe off the dirt. Has a hole too for having it up on a nail. A very elegant tool and very Japanese!

This thing is a game changer for retrieving targets under grass when metal detecting. Once you have it pinpointed, this thing makes it easy to cut a little half-circle around the pinpoint, flip up the grass, and retrieve your treasure (or bottle cap, most likely). It is sharp and sturdy and the tang is very secure. I’ve used it a fair amount and have no concerns about its durability thus far. The only issue I’ve had is that the blade has cut through the sheath a bit… probably could have been avoided if I had been more aware of the problem to start (just don’t apply any pressure from the blade onto the leather when returning it to its sheath). The polish on the metal is great too… works well and looks great, too!

This Hori Hori knife is probably my favorite garden tool. It does so many things: Cuts down or trims flowering plants and small bushes, weeding, and planting bulbs. Careful, it's really sharp, and I'm happy that the shield keeps my hand from slipping onto the blade. This knife is well made and I especially like the leather sheaf. I expect to use this knife for years and years.

I bought this because Amazon lists Japan as the country of origin, not China. The knife blade has "Japanese Product" on it. It is a nice design with a concave blade and has both a serrated and plain edge. The handle while it provides a good grip could have been rounded a bit more for comfort.

Great knife for planting and outdoor gardening. There surface of the blade has measurements in both inches and mm to let you know how deep in the soil you are digging. The surface of the blade is also curved like a shovel, so easy to dig and scoop out dirt after you measure the depth. One side of the blade can also function like a saw to cut. The knife is easy to hold and feels durable, even comes in a leather sheath to protect it. Perfect for what I need in a garden knife.
