Great for sensitive scalp- only 3 ingredients!
First time growing out my hair. Needed something to manage it and didn't want to use those hair products with a million chemicals in it. I have very sensitive skin. Came across this amazing product! Its literally like Vaseline, except it's much harder and its designed specifically for the hair. The main reason I chose this is because it had only 3 ingredients in it. Petroleum, Mineral Oil, Parfum. The parfum scent is very discreet almost un-noticable, yet smells very very nice. It is a very light vanilla scent. Tried the pomade direct on my skin first and it caused no irritation at all whatsoever, it actually greatly moisturised it so I was more than happy to put in hair. The pomade is a strong hold and weighted down the hair. It made it look slick and neat. It is waterproof which was a big advantage for me. It kept in shape for the whole day, and the next day. When it looked out of shape, just wet my hair up again and bam it reactivated as if you just put more in.Washing out - first time using pomade, obviously read the reviews that it was a pain to wash out. Personally I didn't find this to be the case. A good tip I found, is when you go into the shower rub the shampoo on your hair while it's dry. (I use baby shampoo) Leave for few mins. Then start shower as normal. And use conditioner. All pomade came out every time. If you put way too much pomade in hair, then an hour before you go into shower just rub some hand cream in the hair. It breaks the promade down. All in all, I highly recommend this. It lasted me for a very long time. An amazing hair product! Smelt beautiful and great for people with sensitive scalps. Going to try the Nu-Nile one next.

Near perfect quality
Great for thick, curly hair. Quite difficult to apply to hair by itself so I wouldn't recommend as a first-off for beginners who aren't sure what style of hair they want or who don't know how to handle their hair. I just leave it floating in very hot water for a few minutes to let it melt for a bit - it becomes significantly easier to apply this way. Others may choose to use a hair dryer for a minute or two or leave it on a heater (though the latter is supposedly not recommended). As with all oil based pomades it doesn't wash out easily and holds your hair very well, while at the same time being easier to recomb/restyle than most water-based pomades, making it perfect for rainy days or for when people feel like ruffling your hair throughout the day. It can end up quite sticky on your hands when applying it - I've just had to wash my hands vigorously after using it.The value and simplicity of this product is what makes it go above and beyond the rest of the other products. Couldn't be happier.

Great product
This was my first dip into the pomade market and I settled on Murray's after reading the reviews. To be honest I didn't want to go out and spend 15 quid on anything like Layrite/Suavetico etc. as initially I was just hoping to test the water with this stuff.I have pretty thick hair and basically I've tried everything to try and get my hair into that slicked back/quiff look but nothing seemed to work until I tried this. It keeps my hair in tact all day and has incredible hold while giving that greasy look without making it look unwashed. It also has quite a nice smell and the retro tin is pretty cool too, these are only small things but it kind of just adds to the product I suppose. It will take a few washes to get out though due to it being oil based which puts it at a disadvantage to water-based pomades. My tin is almost empty now and has lasted me quite a while and I have found myself being quite generous with it at times. I'll probably look at getting one of the more expensive water based pomades next but I would certainly recommend this product as it has done the business for me and from now on pomades are the only hair products I can see myself using.

Alas not for me
Having been a user of Sweet Georgia Brown for years, i was shocked to see how much they are now asking for that product. Thus i was looking for something similar at a sensible price.it was a toss up between this and one other. From the pictures on line this looked to be a similar product and was keenly price.Alas it isn't for me, whereas SGB has a soft consistency, Murrys is hard and more like trying to apply glue to your hair.I tried heating it up, which made it softer, but did not take away the glue-like effect when applying it.So i have a full tin of something i cant use and need to by something else, the added cost of which would be the same as having paid over the odds for SGB!

It seems OK.....actually, its great!
It seems OK, but I have not quite figured out how to use it yet. I had intended to smooth my frizzy natural Afro hair, around the edges, with this. It works a bit and leaves hair glossy, maybe I need to apply a lot more product. It does not flake but unless you carefully smooth it into your hair it will have a white bloom. Its incredibly thick as well. I will update on the results a a few weeks.....Its been quite a few weeks now! I stopped using this hair dressing for a while, but since I started using it again its the best hair smoothener for frizzy (4c) hair. Dampen your hairline and apply half a teaspoon of this stuff. Smooth it down, using a bit of Elbow grease as well, and hey presto smooth edges. (By the way, Elbow Grease is not another brand, it just means that you should apply some effort)
