High Rhulain (Redwall) Mass Market Paperback – Illustrated, March 27, 2007

Another one of Brian Jacques' masterpieces, right up there with Lord Brocktree, Taggerung, and Legend of Luke. As with all of his masterpieces, prepare for your eyes to tear up and your heart to soar, sometimes all at once. This wonderful story includes elements of Cinderella (Tiria,) King Arthur (Corriam/Rhulain) and Robin Hood (Leatho Shellhound) and is still somehow greater than the sum of those beloved tales. Travel to the Green Isle, possibly the most beautiful location in Brian Jacques' world, and there meet determined outlaws under the iron paws of their wildcat overlords. You will find yourself cheering out loud for Leatho as he leads the cats on many a merry dance, with the help of Kolun Galedeep and Banya Streamdog. The rousing song the clans sing when the long-awaited High Rhulain returns will steal your heart. This book is a beautiful masterpiece that will be finished far too soon but never really leave your heart.

Amazingly enough, I chose this book. I preferred it over Redwall, because of it's massive vocabulary and joyful feel. There was, and still is, no way to beat any moment of the book.It's basically %200 awesome throughout the entire story.

Lots of adventure, perfect for youth. Brian Jacques always has intertwined other characters from other books and times into his stories which makes the reader want more.

It's difficult to find audio cds of Brian Jacques Redwall books so I took a chance on this used recording. It seems to play alright, at least as far as I've listened so far. But some of the discs have more scratches and dings than I had expected and it may skip in some of the most used discs. It also suffered a bit from the handling in the mail. So, I'm vaguely disappointed.

My son listens to this over and over. It is done very nicely with different voices and music.

My son's reading this series, and had been looking for this book locally, but had no luck. The book was in the condition promised, and the order arrived in a timely manner, love that!

Yet another fun story from this creative writer filled with quirky characters and friends who truly enjoy just living together. This story, just as any of the Redwall series is a great feel-good read and even good for reading to your children at bedtime.

Familiar format that always delivers. Has action, humour, compassion and a rocking good storyline as always. The late Brian Jacques was seriously under-rated and should be a name that trips off the tongue of all children and adults still in touch with their imaginative inner child.

Another book from the master Brian Jaques. I love otters so this is one of my favourites. Have to admit though, I do prefer the covers that had the front page character looking out a 'window' on the spine.
