Curlsmith bonding oil
Great oil for my curls. They were left shiny and defined.I don't think the smell is overpowering despite some reviews.I quite like the smell to be honest.

It weighs my hair down

Smells good
Smells good but if your hair is on the thicker side then I’d say this oil alone is not enough. I’ve got course curly hair. If your hair is fine - this might be your best friend. Totally weightless

My curls love it
I recently started the curly girl method and wanted something to scrunch out the crunch from a gel cast. I tried with just my hands but my hair didn't like it. It looked puffy, frizzy, and my curls didn't look defined. This oil is perfect for scrunching. There is a guide on how much to use but of course, everyone is different. For me that means I use a very small amount, not even a full pump, too scrunch out the crunch on wash day once my hair is dry. I have fine hair which is about shoulder length. High porosity and a lot of it.I also like using it on non wash days. I smooth my hands over my curls and gently rake through with about two pumps for a full head. I do this just before bed and then tie my hair up in a loose pineapple. Wake up to beautiful soft, happy curls that need minimal refreshing.I did experiment with it on wet hair but that didn't work for me. My hair looked shiny but was limp and I couldn't get the curls to hold when I used the oil on wet hair. Not the product's fault, it does say works best on dry hair. I just wanted to see what happens and thought I'd mention it.The oil smells really nice and adds shine to my hair. It looks and feels healthier since I started using it. Since you only need a little, the bottle will last a long time so it's good value for money. I'll be ordering this again when I run out!

Surprisingly effective once you get the quantity right
Curlsmith – Bonding Oil is unscented and comes in a nice glass bottle. I applied to dry hair as instructed and on my first attempt, I used too much product and it felt heavy. On my second attempt, I used less and it was definitely a better outcome. After application, it goes crusty and you must work into the hair. My hair is fine with a curly wave when left to air dry. I scrunched my hair and after a few moments, I noticed the curls were more defined and a glossy shine in my hair. It felt softer too. This is not a cheap product. Although one pump is sufficient for all of my past shoulder-length hair. The ingredients are described as a natural plant-based product, outperforming silicones, and is supposed to be lighter in the hair than traditional oils. After using the product a few times and getting the right balance for my hair, I agree. It's a nice product that I think would work best on thick, curly hair.
