Grass is growing!
I bought this product a few weeks ago and already my grass has started to grow! Bought the same seed last year as I had a patch of dirt that was covered in bark that needed replacing with grass. We watched a helpful YouTube video on how to correct grow grass and the results were amazing! This grass is better quality grass than our normal grass. It’s thicker, healthier and more green. So we decided to buy some more to go over our normal grass to make it look healthier.

Grass seed
Brought this a long time ago (about 5-6 months before writing this) and was a little worried about the negative reviews that this wouldn't work and leave us with nothing but a hole in our pockets but we REALLY needed it and I decided to go for it. Backstory is that we moved into a new place and the entire garden was trees. Just trees, all the kind you can just about get two hands around and it looked a mess, you couldn't step anywhere. We had them cut down, and all the roots dug out, which took days of hard labour and we were left with solid dirt, which we wanted to turn to grass. This box covered the whole garden, I can't remember the exact dimensions but we were doubling up to account for birds eating any seeds and because we had so much ground to cover. Literally! I would guess our garden is about 30sqm We took an afternoon out and followed the directions to the letter, even stamping the seeds into our sad little dirt where, of course, there's minimal fencing and a good few neighbours had a laugh at us shuffling about like penguins, but it was all worth it. Within a week there were little shoots coming up, give it another week and we had a fine dusting of grass, and within a month we had a full lawn. We haven't mowed it all yet, given the weather and just moving, there hasn't been a way to, but we wanted it to grow to a good potential before we touched it anyway. Now we have a healthy, THICK, green lawn that you would never imagine was a literal forest and a bit of a death trap not long ago. Going to be honest, we didn't water it at all, but that was due to the rain over the next week that did the job for us, otherwise I would advise you keep it well watered as per instructions to make sure you get a great garden. You'll need a decent rake, and some shoes you don't mind getting muddy and you're set!

Not bad. I found it took a while to see any growth. Not sure if I would use again. There are better grass seeds out there.

Seems to be growing very well!
I forgot to take a photo but it's been 3/4 weeks since sowing and it looks like a full lawn! It's quite thin though, I'm not sure if it will spread or if that's just what it looks like cause I sowed a lot of seed and I've even sowed more on top of the new lawn to fill it out 3 weeks after original seeding.. So I'll see how this works in another 3 weeks. I found it didn't germinate until the weather was quite hot (+18°c) and being watered every day (if it hasn't rained) so far so good!

Brrrrrilliant!!!!!
A totally EXCELLENT product!! Pretty much bird-proof it really does the biz. Sprinkle generously (I use an egg cup with my two front fingers over the top allowing a little slit for the seed to drop through as I use it as a shaker) and then cover the seed loosely with compost. That makes a "little oven" that allows the seed to heat up and germinate quickly. (Don't forget to water it though!) The compost shows you where you've been and you can see the growth out of the dark compost. The compost also hides the seed from the birds, but EverGreen seed is pretty much bird-proof against all but the most persistent winged pests/friends! Can't recommend it highly enough and you will get GREAT results. I always have.

Little green spikes
I shouldn't be surprised that planting in Feb is going to delay germination because of the cold, so a delay of over a month before I saw any green spikes was to be expected. I wondered for a while though whether I had dud seed, as the box said a week to 10 days (no allowance for cold), but it has now germinated, and I'm hoping the carpet of little green spikes will turn into a respectable covering by the summer. I still have half the box left for patch-filling. The recommended sowing always seems terribly thin to me, so I over-sow. The areas where I sprinkled a sack of peat from the garden centre over the top have come up much faster and more evenly than on the raked earth that was left after my building work, and I hope this part will be better rooted too. You could also mix the seed with the peat and leave it somewhere warm for a few days to pre-germinate for a faster result when you put it down. This might discourage the birds (I now have four very fat pigeons lurking around the garden, despite my four cats).

Good quailty grass
After removing all the horrible shurbs and hedges along the 2 sides of my garden to reclaim playing space, I need the bare patch grassed. I did put in alot of effort and work before putting in the seeds. Raked in and removed all stone (as much as I could) down to a couple of inches. I think I did cover the area with more seeds than recommended but thought I only get one chance to do this. So after a days work following the instructions from the box, I was all done. This is where the TLC comes in, I watered the soil (grass) every morning and evening. Did this for 2 weeks and started to see my little babies all popping out from the ground one morning. Carried on watering for another week until they were fully established. Now I have a nice lush (very green) grass along the side which makes the old grass in the middle look anaemic. Really please that I am going to buy another box for other areas, straight after I finish writing this review...which is now..

Schade
