Colourworks Plastic Bowls for Parties and Children or Camping, Melamine Made, in Classic Colours, Set of 4

These state clearly they should not be used in the microwave or oven but can be used in the dishwasher. We love these bowls. The colours are so bright and vibrant. They are sturdy and heavy even for melamine. My two-year-old granddaughter loves having her snacks/food served in them and takes great joy choosing her colour choice. Highly recommended.

Gotta be honest, these are, really, just plastic cereal bowls. We bought these about 8 months ago and they get 5 stars for a few reasons: 1. They're sturdy, not flimsy. While they're not advised for microwave use, we pop them in the microwave to warm our cereal up on cold mornings (full power, 40 seconds) and they're just fine for that - no cracking or chipping. When they've been warmed, they don't get any flex but remain absolutely rigid. 2. The colours are lovely and bright and they haven't faded over time as some colours do. This could be because the colour isn't applied (painted on) but inherent (part of the plastic itself). 3. They've coped with being dropped a few times now and haven't marked at all. In fact, they've not really scratched or marked at all, which - for plastic items - is impressive. 4. They don't float in the washing up bowl! Which seems an absurd thing to be pleased about, but when you're washing 4 plastic bowls up at once and they're all floating about, it gets annoying! Yeah. They're a little more expensive than other brands and items, but they're definitely worth it. I'm very pleased with these, which is a surprising thing for me to say because - as I said at the start - they are "just" plastic bowls - but really well-made ones, and that does make a difference after all!

Ideally I wanted something with a little flexibility but I couldn't find any such bowls in this shape and size. These bowls are good though and nice and deep for the kids' cereal. We've even served spag bol in them and they appear to be resistant to the common tomato staining. One has been dropped on the tiled floor and survived without any cracking or chipping. They are easily washed by hand. Not tested them in either microwave or dishwasher. Bought 8 bowls and very pleased with them.

Daughter bought a stock of plastic plates and bowls for use in the garden and for the kids. Within a month all were shattering. So I offered to look for a good melamine replacement. I was aware of the reservations of users, who complained of fragility and wrappings. None of these problems have occurred, so far, with the dozen I bought. The bowls arrived the next morning after order. The lable came off with no effort. First impression are that they are substantial for the price; good size and definitely Microwave and Dishwasher proof. Those were the first trials! They have proven so popular with the tribe, that I note the adults are using 'em in preference to the ceramics in the tableware cupboard. UPDATE As with the plates, the bowls are surviving the heavy use in excellent condition. An excellent product!

Other reviews regretted that these bowls cannot be used in the microwave, but as this wasn't a requirement for my purchases (yes, I made repeat buys!) I haven't marked them down for it. I needed bowls for someone with a co-ordination issue, for whom normal (aka breakable) crockery is a problem. The bowls are in strong, bold colours, without being babyish, ultra-garish, etc. They are also quite deep and so hold sufficient to satisfy and adult. So far they seem to be robust and doing the job, which is why I bought some more before they went out of stock.

Bought them for use at a children’s party but have actually come in quite handy since. Seem decent quality plastic.

Not wanting to let my John Lewis collection get damaged by little hands I have gradually moved into alternative materials for plates and cups. These are bigger than side plates, but not as large as a normal dinner plate. They are a good size for a childs dinner portion etc. They are light and have a nice colour. They are easy to wash. I piatti sono molto più resistenti e robusti di quanto mi aspettassi. Ideali per uscite fuori porta e/o per il campeggio. I colori sono esattamente quelli visibili in foto e con la stessa brillantezza. Consiglio assolutamente l'acquisto.
