Big Investment and Worth Every Penny!
I did a lot of research prior to pulling the trigger on this, my wife would argue obsessive levels. In any event given my setup the unit size and flexibility needed was a big part of the decision making process. I've attached a few pics:A) Total setup: This is endstate, where the Espresso Haven 72 sits below my 120" diag screen. The door on the right is the sole entry into the media room. I didn't take a pic of the before because it was sad and embarrassing, but suffices to say the prewired speaker wire and component wires were completely visible when you entered the room.B) The 72" haven: This is a closer perspective. This beautiful unit has perfect amount of space for the ML center with not too much room around and plenty of space for components. The one thing I keep on the top of the unit is the universal remote.C) Side view with unit pulled away from wall: The wheels on the bottom allow for easy access to the back of the unit. A couple of times I had crossed some inputs into the receiver and this feature made adjustments a breeze.D) Unit up against the wall: I have actually left off the back panels to be able to push the unit right up against the wall (to the baseboards at least) and the wiring/outlets are no longer visible when you enter the room.Overall the unit is extremely well built; they don't make things this solid anymore. Also Standout's focus on media units shows with all the wiring holes this was by far the easiest time I've ever had setting up a media center (this is number 4 for me). I'm 100% sure Standout was the right choice.

I couldn't think of anything more in a media console
Like others here, buying a media console was something that I put a lot of research into. It was only after searching around online for media consoles that I heard of Standout Designs and their products. My first communication with them was many months ago - I requested free wood samples. The samples quickly arrived, and I was impressed with the quality. When you combine this with their customer service, I didn't hesitate ordering a Haven. The unit arrived only one week after I ordered, and there was plenty of packaging to make sure nothing was damaged. Alan (one of the Standout employees) was notified that I signed for my shipment, and e-mailed me just to make sure everything was okay. Setting up all of my components within the console is really easy - the back panels just pop off with a gentle pull. Overall, this is an amazing piece of furniture from a company that truly values quality and customer service. Highly recommended.

I'm glad I bought the Haven from Standout Designs and not that other company.
I ran out of space in my audio rack and my wife didn't want to buy a bigger one. She'd rather have a piece of furniture under the TV. Sorather than argue I rolled with it. We looked at salamander and almost pulled the trigger on it, but then we found Standout Designs, whichis located in my home state of Pennsylvania. My contact was Deb and she was very helpful. She sent samples and gave me a rundown on the 72" Haven in cherry (espresso color). I was a little hesitant not being able to see the unit in a store, but the pictures and theinformation that Deb gave me convinced me to go with Standout Designs. My wife liked the look of Standout Designs better than the othercompany and I let my wife pick the color. I liked that design the best and it had wheels, which sold me because my big argument on thattype of furniture was that it would be hard to change wiring in the back. The wheels made it easy to pull out, do what I needed and pushit back. I liked the smoked glass in the doors, which I hoped would allow the IR signal from all my remotes. I've had the unit now for acouple months and have no problem with the remotes working. The cable box remote needs to be aimed better now, but I do not need an IRrepeater. The Haven is well built. I am an amateur woodworker and liked the build quality. I saw no discrepancies on my unit. The openunit in the center was more than adequate for my center channel speaker. One thing that I didn't fully understand until I got the unit wasthat all the back panels come off (no tools), which is great for accessing all your equipment and wiring. Below the center channel is adrawer, which you can store media or whatever you want, but I elected to put my monster power unit in there, which kept the annoying bluedisplay out of sight. There is room between the end of the drawer and the removable back to allow the excess cord lengths to accordianwhen you close the drawer. The other nice feature is that there are at least 1 round opening (with rubber grommet) between eachcompartment for wire routing. A couple have 2 openings. The bottom of each compartment also has an opening to the floor for speaker wire,tv cable, fm antenna cable, power cords, etc. In my particular situation, I have a parasound amp, which can generate a lot of heat, so Ielected to get the fan kit for each side just in case they were needed. The slotted wood on the back panel insert is removed (4 screws)and the fan assembly replaces the insert. The base side compartments and wood shelves have slotted openings to allow air flow for naturalconvection or fan assisted cooling. I was worried that this type of furniture might rattle or make noise when playing at the volume levelsI like running at. I have so far heard no noise at all from the glass in the doors or any other part of the unit. I am so far very pleasedwith my purchase and would recommend this unit. In case anyone is interested, in the left side I was able to fit my pioneer TV tuner box, verizon cable tuner, Denon 3800 blu-ray player, HDMI switch and Xbox One. Three shelves with some equipment stacked - not much free space on that side. The right side compartment holds my Parasound A52 5 channel amp and NAD T763 receiver. The drawer holds the monster power center (2500). The monitor audio center channel is small and easily fits in the opening. The parasound amp is deeper than most and with the speaker cable routing further out the back, it necessitate keeping the back off that side until I can create a customized opening in it when I get time. Normal amps aren't as deep and should not need this treatment. I knew that going down this path. It didn't fit correctly in my audio rack either, but I love the sound.
