Happy with it
I have bought two of these books for my son who's learning chinese (grades 3-5). His chinese is pretty basic. He can have some conversations because that's the style he has learned in, conversational chinese, but his vocabulary is lacking. That's where this helps. It does lack in repetition. It introduces words and then only uses them for the next page or two, then moves on. That's the only downfall I can really see. It also shows you the chinese symbols and the stroke order and direction to write them. It even has a QR code on each page so you can scan and hear the spoken words, very nice! We have a chinese instructor for my son, and he has his text books, so at home we simply supplement with little workbooks and story books to increase his immersion in the language. This little (and it IS little) workbook is good for that. It's not extensive enough to base any curriculum around, and probably not even to be activities in the class, but it is PERFECT for little extras later in the day to remind the brain how to think in chinese. Highly recommend.

I really like how the book is separated based on chinese character ...
I really like how the book is separated based on chinese character parts. There is a great emphasis on how to break down the characters to help children remember. My son is in immersion school (3rd grade) and he knows most of the phrases, but this is a great way to help him organize the words.I think this is great book as a follow up to kinder book, but again, if they want to do it independently then they need to be able to read and understand pin yin.

My son loves learning Mandarin thanks to this book
This workbook made my son excited to continue his mandarin lessons. It is so well done that I was able to teach him using just this book. It’s good for everyone, not just kids. I highly recommend it. We do have an elementary understanding of the language, but I believe it would be good for beginners as well.

Continue Language Immersion at home
I love the QR code’s that allow us to hear how to pronounce the characters printed on each page. It’s been a good resource to continue to my 2nd grader’s Tri-lingo immersion program Chinese practice at home during Covid and independent study track.

great book
My daughter has almost done working on this book. She learned Chinese before but with a lot of resistance. Somehow this book is easier for her to accept, and makes her learn better. Especially when it's close to the end of the book, she can read the short sentences all by herself which gave her a lot of confidence.

Very good.
Kid who goes to Chinese immersion school loves it. Brought this book along on a recent road trip. Kid never put it down! He usually has a tablet glued to his face during road trips.

Need discipline to open this book as a parent
My kids not a super genius. It’s hard to focus her. Maybe geared for the 7 year old not a 5 year old. Needs to be more fun.

It is black and white
It is only black and white copy, not color, something different with my expectation. Amazon it is better to have sample pages to preview.
