New life for a old friend!
This video converter worked perfectly right out of the box. No fancy setup. Just plug it in and turn it on. Aaahhh, the way things used to be. As you can see, my old friend Commodore 64 likes it too! Priced right! Should work with about any old console or 8-bit computers from back in the day. Whether you have a composite output like the Commodore 64 or S-Video from a newer Nintendo, it should work well. It works for me!

Good converter, I wouldn’t use the included video cables.
I got this converter so I could switch between using my crt pc monitor as a third monitor and playing my GameCube. For this purpose it works great! I don’t notice any major latency problems. When I was initially using it, I used the included vga cable to connect my pc. The colors for the pc passthrough were muted and had a lot of streaky analog artifacts around high contrast areas. I switched to a spare vga cable I had in the basement and it fixed my problem.

Compact and well built
This works exactly the way I needed it to. My Monitor only had VGA inputs and I needed to add a Wii with RCA output, and it works really nice. There's a selector button to toggle between inputs. Picture quality is terrific. I have a PC and two game systems running my Arcade and it solved my Monitor connections. Very simple to setup and get running. 1 power supply and the unit are included in the package.

Sorta Works
The unit works, but the frequency response causes slight blurring and tearing of the VGA signal. Also, the composite input is a bit jittery. I verified the inputs were solid, the box is just a bit marginal. You are getting what you paid for. This is fine if you are not using it all day.

Not bad but not great and the cost doesn’t completely break the bank
There’s not much with the directions but if you are at least a little text savvy you will understand what you need to know really based on the general diagram. I was using some retro gaming systems on a PC monitor with this in the picture quality it’s OK the screen quality is so so. I do like how this comes with extra cords for both types it did throw me off at the menu comes in what I think is Mandarin but if you keep hitting that button you will The first menu type without a number will be where you need to switch languages.

Excellent price and Works Great.
For the price this works perfectly to getting my Commodore 64 up and running again. Sure there are more expensive ones out there but for a value converter this did the trick! . This is just for NTSC users. I don’t know if it will work for PAL users. I wish the power cord was longer and little more sturdy of a case but for the price I’m not complaining.

Decent converted picture - but NO COLOR
I bought this converter specifically for converting an Apple II+ vintage computer to work with newer LCD monitors. It faithfully converts the signal as advertised but as a few others have commented: There is no color in the resulting VGA image; it is otherwise clear. A lack of color makes game-playing not so enjoyable... I am a retired Electrical Engineer and IT/Computer department director. I tried all the documented menu settings for this unit, it just won't provide a complete conversion with color on any setting. I also note that I bought a much less-expensive AV-to-VGA converter on Amazon with PERFECT results (incl. color). It is: XMSJSIY AV RCA to VGA Adapter Audio Video Converter,Composite AV to VGA

This one is Commodore compatible! (Beware of similar knock offs)
This device works perfectly with my Apple IIe, Atari 800XL and NABU, as well as my Commodore 64, Commodore 128 and Commodore Plus/4. It doesn't like my VIC-20. (Originally I bought a less expensive device that looks exactly like this one, but didn't work with my Commodores and had a terrible image with the Atari and Apple.)On my Apple IIe this device sometimes looks very bad, and sometimes has excellent color and monochrome text has consistent thickness and soft edges in both 40 and 80 columns. I'm not sure why it's inconsistent. On my Atari 800XL the colors are crisp and clean with the S-Video mod.On my Commodores, the S-Video image is great, with nice colors and brightness. "Jailbar" lines are faint on mine, but every C= is different. A Commodore S-Video cable with a 300 ohm resistor built in help to lessen the jailbars. (There are some photos in the reviews which show a line or rainbow at the top of the screen; I can only get this to happen if I quickly turned the computer of and on again. But if I turn it off and wait a moment for the screen to turn blue, then turn on the computer, I never see the rainbow line.)Just for comparison, this device has a hard plastic shell, screws on the bottom, the VGA IN is on the same side as the AV IN and SVIDEO IN ports, and it comes in a box. The knockoff device has a velvet rubber case, no screws, VGA IN is on the side by itself, and it comes in a bag.
