Late Night Tales: Nils Frahm

Among Late Night Tales, one of the worst
I own nearly all of the releases in this Late Night Tales Series, and this one is among the very worst. I don't mind down-tempo stuff, but almost all the tracks are extremely morose. Other releases in the Late Night Tales Series do an amazing job of combining genres, tempos, etc. This one is monotonous and not at all pleasing to listen to.

Incredible
I think I have, or have heard, most of the music on this CD before. Nonetheless, it is beautifully paced, the tracks are frequently remixed and sequenced. Unlike a lot of the Late Night Tales, which come across as the kind of compilation I like to make on Audacity, the segues are very sophisticated and the various tracks have the feel of being by one artist at many points. A classic in this series.

Interesting...
I came at at Nils from comparison to him to Hania Rani’s work, thinking, if I like her stuff so much I should really check Nils out...I’ve also really enjoyed previous Late Night Tales output (Agnes Obel, I’m looking at you!) so decided to give this a punt (as well as Spaces and Wintermusik).Standout tracks for me are the Baka Forest People Liquindi 2 and Miles’ Concierto de Aranjuez.

Sounscapes
This is very much like sitting in a speakeasy at the end of the night or long drive ..sounds soundscapes beats music

Sophisticated tales
This is a really great album and one of the most sophisticated late night tales i have listened to. Not a particularly happy one, but a good feeling nonetheless.

Five Stars
Great ambient chilled out sound, really lovely album to listen to with the lights turned down.
