I've been using this to make healthy shakes, so I add a lot of different fruits and veggies. That said, the flavor for this protein powder is strong. It overpowers the other ingredients I add. Good thing it tastes good, though. It makes my shakes taste like pumpkin pie when I add cinnamon. Otherwise, it tastes like birthday cake. It is slightly grainy, but that doesn't bother me. I've also noticed that a lot of the powder will settle at the bottom, so the last few gulps of smoothie taste different. Not bad, just not as flavorful as the rest of the drink. Overall I would say this is a good protein powder. By the way I only add one scoop to my drinks because I know two would be way too strong.The chocolate one doesn't taste as good. It doesn't have a lot of flavor and tastes cheap. When I make shakes with it, I can tell I'm drinking something "weird".

With a blender and mixed with fat free milk taste and mouth feel is very good, it has a nice creamy texture and a solid vanilla flavor. It has a bit of an aftertaste from the stevia used a sweetener. With water and using a spoon it mixed fine (no lumps) was more watery (obviously) and taste was still good, but after taste from the stevia was stronger.At the time of purchase the vanilla was only $12 for 1.72LB and less with prime scheduled delivery.Bottom line for me with a blender and milk, which is really the only way I drink protein shakes, taste A, texture A+, quality A, price A+

Nov 9, 2023: After I wrote the previous review, which was nearly a year after purchase, the company reached out to me with genuine concern and an offer to refund. (!!) I agreed to try the French Vanilla they had available. I proceeded to use it as I would normally, the few different ways I consume protein powder. The first few times were weird because I was coming off the Vanilla Bean, and this one seemed to have a perfumey element. I knew this had to be absurd and that I needed to put more time between uses. So I left it alone a couple months. When I restarted use recently, my experience was restored to the way I recall and I am grateful. I really appreciate Design Protein's true customer service, and hopefully French Vanilla will be available when I need to re-up.Aug 5, 2023: When I was looking for French Vanilla, this Vanilla Bean was all that would come up. I bought it thinking that it can't be THAT different. But the powder is more ..well...powdery than the than the FV version that I was used to. The consistency is talc-y, where as the other was more granular. The taste is chalky, which previously the absence of that was my absolute favorite thing about this. This one is inclined to clump in yogurt, whereas the previous one was smooth. I recently saw a supposed French Vanilla 2lb zip pack, but I am afraid to buy it. I wish I understood the point of the changes. Finding a good protein powder isn't easy. I have to start the search all over again.

We love Designer whey and have been using it for 15 years . When the meal replacement came out I found it a wonderful "milkshake" for my aging mother who is hard pressed to chew and eat as she should . Even swallowing capsules of vitamins and supplements is a chore some days. It's good for her and good for her morale as well to have such an easy and delicious way to start her day.The flavor of both the vanilla and the chocolate is just right for us. It's almost a malted flavor that younger folks may not appreciate as it's a delicate and even nostalgic nuance for older folks.The value is great considering the vitamins, probiotics and very important fiber boost.Keep up the excellent work Designer Whey ( first recommended to us by Dr. David Williams of Healthy Directions who has been a dependable resource for us years).

Historically, the flavor of Designer Whey was at the cutting edge of the market for bodybuilders and weighlifters, looking for natural lean protein.This is NOT the same product. The old one was tried, tested and true -- Classic.This product tastes less dense, less robust and rich. The Classic one almost tasted like chocolate milk without having that overpowering minerally protein flavor.Ugh. Won't buy again. It is a subpar product lost in among all the other ones today.Maybe we can figure out how to doctor it up.Also, it is no longer (probably a good thing, now) not available in the LARGE/bulk canister.Actually, miss the classic product was excited to use it again. Not anymore.

a scoop is 190 calories added with milk and fruit, makes this a high calorie drink. I use fat free organic grass feed cow's milk and it tastes so much better than using watery almond milk. tracking my calories, fats and carbs makes this a drink for every few days instead of daily. Tastes great when I do include it in my diet. Be sure to add unsweetened cocoa powder to give it a rich chocolate takes rather than buying a chocolate flavored version.

I’ve been using this whey protein for about 3 years now. The quality for this product is superior to any other protein powders in the market .not only is this a true native whey isolate made with grass fed beef but the way it dissolves with almond milk, water or regular milk is very impressive. I’ve tried all 3 and the best option accounting for flavor, and texture is almond milk ,that’s just my opinion .one thing I am sure of is that it will taste better than any other product out there no matter what you mix it with. And you definitely can’t go wrong with the price .
