ion Color Defense SulfateFree Shampoo, Protection for Color Treated Hair

Edited 2-22-2015 I am still using this brand of shampoo and conditioner, but have switched to the brown label. It truly is an amazing product line. Any one of the Ion product line is well worth the money. (Original Post 11-14-2011) I am on my 3rd month of using this shampoo. I have thick, slightly wavy, and somewhat coarse hair that can be frizzy. My hair is also about 15-20% grey. This shampoo and conditioner have been great. My hair is soft, shiny, and healthy looking with body even after coloring it. I do still have to use some heat (flat iron) to straighten the frizzes on very humid days, but nothing like prior to using this product. I also use the semi-permanent color by the same company (reviewing it soon). I have not used the items separately to see if I get the same results, but the combination has been beyond my expectations. Where other expensive salon shampoos and conditoners have failed, this has excelled. It smells great too. (Update: 4-21-2014) After using this product for over a year, it stopped working as well. It also became more difficult to pump; I'm guessing the formula was changed to be thicker. I have since switched to Ion Keratin Smoothing Shampoo and the Conditioner. It works very well by itself, but I still needed a little something extra to get completely smooth hair. I've added Aquage Straightening Ultragel to my regemine and this combination seems to be perfect for frizz free hair.

Great brand for dyed hair, kept the color in much longer than expected!

This is great shampoo for colored red hair. However, if consistency changes over time, according to research, it's time to change it. It will go bad if you don't use it regularly and you will know because the consistency will become thin. Should be a thick formula.

Only giving 4 stars as the shampoo was open inthe packaging. Looked like they rewrapped it after it leaked. I forgot to take photos and I am not returning it as I love th eproduct.

Great product

Shampoo as shown in other reviews was all over the packaging.. box was even soggy.. about 1/4th of the bottle was gone however, product works wonders. Super soft and fresh looking hair. Hair feels hydrated and smells great. Wish the bottle was more secure with a tab ob the top to peel off before use.

Saved me a trip to Sally's beauty supply. Same cost. This shampoo is really good to prevent color fading and I have used it for a number of years. Glad to see it being sold on Amazon.
