Wonderful
I have really enjoyed working through this book. I would say it is more geared towards parents with older children but I fully intend to use and reuse this material.

Easy read, powerful and meaningful
I heard about the The Love Dare for couples but when I went to buy it I came across this book. I decided to buy it. Just received and it started today. The daily pages are about 2-3 pages long. Not hard to read, powerful and meaningful. There is also an assessment online to help you see where you at with your parenting and you can take it however many times to evaluate your growth. Thank you Jesus for using the authors to write this book. I will re-evaluate in 40 days. Hope and pray you will take this journey as well.

Will take into group setting
As a parent of teenagers, 17 and 14, it can be very hard to find the balance between too strict versus too relational with kids, knowing when to give grace and how to do it without being taken advantage of. It can also be hard to know when to step in, and when to let your child face trials and failure without rushing to rescue them all the time.Like many families in this era, I have no family around and few female mentors to lean on or ask for help. I've read a couple of great parenting books that have made a really good difference - either helping me understand teens, reassuring me I was doing okay, or helping me change course a little. The great thing about this one is the steps to take. Not just finish a book and hope some ideas stick, or try a few things, but regular things to do - and how to do it! Sometimes a concept in a book is great, but how to do it? This gives suggestions.Rather than consider these day to day steps, I treat them as step 1, step 2. That way, I can take a little longer on one if I want. The nice thing is taking the intentional actions, knowing they are biblically sound. There are ways to consider discipline, guiding kids, spending time with them, setting boundaries, praying for them.I plan to take this into a small group settings in the new year.

Main focus is the parent-child bond, (not for couples!)
(I haven't read the whole book through, so I may update this but it seems like a great book. However it is not exactly what I thought it was. Maybe I should have read more reviews, but here's what I figured out...)This book is focused completely on the parent-child bond. I got it for my husband for valentine's, so that we could grow closer, but it is not meant for that purpose... needless to say, he was very puzzled. I thought it was an overall love dare for the parents to re-connect, as well as the kids too... and we can bend the daily dare to be a conversation about our relationship as well in most cases, but I lost interest after the first 4 days because it simply isn't what I was going for. There is another side note, I realized it was a Christian based book when I bought it, but if you don't want to read multiple bible verses and quotes then keep that in mind... it is a little more religious than I first thought as well. (I grew up going to church so it doesn't bother me, but still thought I would add this in here for those of you who find it uncomfortable.)I will keep this book and get back to it later, i still think it was a good purchase, but for those reason above, I can't give it 4 or 5 stars... hope this helps!

I challenge you
This should be on every parents shelf, even if you are not religious. I will say that this book has a lot of references for the bible. You can still do the books day to day agenda without the religious stuff. I did it because i completed the one for marriage and my marriage is better because of it. The book tells you not to do it for them but for you. I learned a lot and even if my kids did not get anything out of it, they didn't even know I was doing the dare, you learn a lot from it. I think it helped me become a better parent as well as person by doing this. I would recommend it, its a great read. Again even if you are not religious is a great book to do by yourself or as a family.

"UPLIFTING, INSPIRING, MOTIVATING!"
This inspiring book is created from the authors who delivered the heartwarming book titled 'The Love Dare.' Stephen and Alex Kendrick chronicle an informative, concise, and motivational book, based on the golden key of love and acceptance. The authors take parents on a journey of challenging 'dares' for quality time with their children, while encouraging a positive and happy outlook on life. The insightful information presented is refreshing, heartwarming, and comforting for parents and children. It encourages a positive attitude, while highlighting the importance of messages between parents and children. In addition, the authors point out the great significance it bears on happiness as we constantly reinforce compassion and love. Each and everyday, a different motivational verse of Script is used as the bond between parent and child becomes stronger, through love and encouragement. In today's busy world, this guide encourages the relationships between parents and their children to continue a strong sense of compassion and understanding for each other. Thought-provoking, interesting, and educational. Highly recommended!

Love it!
I canβt say enough good things about this book. Itβs a relatively short book, but itβs packed with so many valuable and easy to apply insights and tasks. I would recommend this book to any and every parent. I actually even bought a second copy to give as a gift. Itβs worth every penny.
