This is a nice side saddle 6 round for shotguns. This does use surgical tubing in a really smart way to hold the shells, it also comes with 2 additional pieces. It came with a small adhesive rubber spacer you put on the back of the saddle plate, so it wont scratch your shotgun.Two small points of contention with this unit.One: The two parts hex screw pins that replace the trigger assembly pins are subpar . I was lucky and I played with them prior and found some were way too stiff to completely tighten together and had to be worked with before installing. This was compounded by the cheap hex holes. On all of them one hole seemed to be slightly larger than the other, yet the hex keys supplied were the same size or if they wore not it was impossible to tell by using them. This defect makes it too easy to strip the hole on the hex. Thankfully, I had a better hex set with standard as well as metric and was able to install the screw in pin assembly without issue. I do not know who manufactured the screw in trigger assembly pin set, but they are pretty crappy.Two: The price point on this item is too high, especially with the crappy pin kit. At $44 it is overpriced and is why they are losing business to TacStar which is also overpriced, but is still at least $12 cheaper. Drop the price point if you want to sell more.....or not, but make trigger pin set that threads smoothly and has proper hex holes.

After installing, took the SPX out and shot it. Immediately the gun malfunctioned. Loosened the Chicago screws holding the carrier on and the gun function properly. However the carrier is loose and wiggles on the gun. Not acceptable for me. So even if the Chicago screws were the 'exact' dimensions, the carrier would have to be loose. Apparently, these Mossbergs cannot tolerate ANY unusual tension on the receiver at all.. So in my mind, I'm resigned to a butt stock elastic shell holder of some kind, or a sling with shell holders, or a bandoleer, or the Velcro type holders which will fall off the gun eventually.. Already went through that.. .

Half the screw heads in the box were deformed and would not all or complete allow allen wrench to turn, the rest stripped when installing. If you have to remove these for any kind of maintenance they will strip out quickly so I don't see these holding up long term. Also the mounting method can prevent normal operation, as it compresses both sides together, preventing the bold from slinging back. I had to almost completely loosen the screws for it to be able to function, now I worry about the screws falling out when firing and the holder being loose. The only positive is the holder actually seems to hold the rounds fairly well. In the future I'll likely go with a model that mounts off the top rail holes.

I've been looking for a quality shell carrier for awhile. I didn't want to tap holes or use flimsy adhesives.This installs solidly and comes with 2 or 3 inserts to set the shell tension. I like where it sits against my receiver, and am as happy as can be.

Great item even though they have a stupid name it’s not a side saddle it’s a ammo holder but millennials like to change the names on everything and never come up with anything on their own

Great side saddle for my Mossberg 930! Gives me 6 extra rounds on the gun when I need it.

fits great on my 930 spx ... great retention, fairly easy to install if you have a punch, and bench block.
