Mesa Tactical Saddle Rails comprise 6061-T6 aluminum brackets that wrap around the top of the shotgun receiver. The factory trigger pins are replaced by internally thread steel pins, to which both sides of the saddle rail is securely bolted. The saddle rail is Type III anodized for a rugged surface finish. We also offer a version of the Remington Saddle Rail that includes a SureShell shot shell carrier. (See SureShell carrier section for more details) Our Saddle Rail is specially contoured to allow operation of a semi-automatic bolt on the right side of the receiver, so it can be installed on Remington 1100 and Remington 11-87 semi-auto shotguns as well as Remington 870 pump shotguns. No fitting or gunsmithing is required to install.

The best shotgun scope mount on the market
Fits like a charm on my 11-87 12 gauge and super light weight compared to other ones, made from a single piece of aluminum. Very low profile yet can see underneath it for using the shotgun's bead as well as for the original reason I purchased it for; mounting a Burris FastFire for deer hunting. Only gave it four stars since it has such tight tolerances it does mar the finish and it's a pain to remove due to the mounting hardware, one of the reasons I'm leaving it on.

Mount
I ordered this mount and it came in a box loose and used, however it did look extremly good on the shotgun. It does scratch the gun during assemble and come loose after use. It also is bendable so zero is lost frequently. Overall good for looks and tactical short range use.

Only one minor complaint
Purchased to mount on my Norinco HP-9 (Chinese knock off 870) with 14" barrel. Which it fits perfectly if anyone else is wondering. This is a very simple and sturdy rail that mounts very easily. I only have two very minor complaints stopping me from giving a 5 star. One is that the mounting screws have poorly machined threads and need to be run through a few times to make sure you don't cross-thread the hardware. It even states this in the instructions; Mesa, why not just include better hardware? Second, it is very difficult to install this rail without scratching the finish on the receiver. The saddle is a very hard metal and the edges are very sharp. I would reccomend putting masking tape on the receiver to protect it before mounting. Rounding off the edges some would help if Mesa were to want to help alleviate this issue.
