Easy to use. Comfortable. Good price. And It works!
POSITIVES:* They rest lightly in the outside part of the ear, nothing inserted into the ear canal. (One size fits all?)* Anyway, they fit ME, and they are very comfortable to wear (almost forget they are there).* They don't fall out when: eating, talking, walking, or chewing gum (the last ones I tried did).* I DO need to adjust them about 3 times a day. (No big deal.)* Perfect for my minor-moderate mid-life hearing loss. NOT tinny or crackly. Decent audio quality.* I like the small, lightweight design, and they look good.* They do NOT pickup ultra-sound (Like: security motion detectors and computer server rooms). The other brand I tried DID pickup ultra-sound - and it was annoying).* I also like the simple Volume (5 levels) and On/Off adjustments (just tap).* Charge lasts (at least) 16 hours. You may recharge using the CASE battery several times (cool!).* You may recharge the CASE using any USB port or adapter, (Cable IS included, no separate charger.)NEGATIVES* The tap adjustment (volume) is so sensitive that it's easy to raise the volume unintentionally with an accidental touch, which can be annoying. (NO BIG DEAL - just tap it to get back to YOUR level.)* Holding it inside your hand causes acoustic feedback (squeal) - just turn it off if you are not wearing it.* I can't tell if there is ANY sort of noise canceling in the traditional sense.* Background sounds seem loud and make it tough to hear someone speaking softly outside (but that is a problem with virtually all units).SUMMARY* I like this one BETTER than some others I tried. It is EASY to use. It doesn't attract attention.* I think this is a good deal for the price I paid.

Unique design appeals to hearing-aid avoiders like me
These aids are unique: they rest lightly in the outside part of the ear, nothing inserted into the ear canal. No other device offers this feature for under $100 although Apple AirPods (2nd gen) come close. With my mid-life moderate hearing loss, the unique design was the reason I overcame my hearing-aid avoidance to try this product. I expected the worst, but have nothing terrible to report. I like the small, lightweight design (like AirPods, 2nd gen), and it's superbly comfortable and looks way cooler than a traditional hearing aid. I also like the simple adjustments (no phone involved), easy charging, and decent audio quality. As a musician, I half-expected these aids to sound shrill or tinny, a deal-breaker for me, but they actually sound fairly natural at moderate volume. Some downsides exist, and they may be significant for some folks. The tap adjustment for volume is so sensitive that it's easy to raise the volume unintentionally, which can be annoying. Also, holding the device in the wrong way can lead to nasty acoustic feedback (squeal), and I don't notice any sort of noise canceling in the traditional sense. And last, the audio quality for 'outgoing' sound (the sound of my own voice) can distort easily, especially if I speak more loudly. That's the biggest weakness of all for me personally. I'd gladly double the price if Earbyear (or a competitor) would upgrade the amp to reduce distortion, but at least external sounds (not my own voice) are reasonably clear in this current model. In the end, this unique product design should appeal to some people, like me, who have refused to wear a hearing aid but realize that we need one for certain situations. All is easy and simple, and doesn't attract attention. I use just one of these pods at a time, and that's plenty to significantly improve my hearing while leaving the other ear free. I'm waiting for future versions to improve some obvious weaknesses that bug me, but for now this cheap version's workable and alone in its class. I'm still bummed that I need a hearing aid, but this unique product design has provided unexpected relief. I'm thankful for it._______________________________UPDATE A MONTH LATER: I decided to buy a second pair as back-up, but the volume was half that of my original pair (at same settings). I tried again and received a pair that had significant background hiss. My third attempt produced a keeper. The moral of this update: Earbyear's quality control seems a little shaky. If you're not matching a pair, you'll probably be fine with whatever you first receive. But if your product behaves differently than most reviews indicate, keep my experience in mind (i.e., consider a replacement). I wish you all the best in finding some improvement with your hearing, wherever you can find it.

Do they work as advertised? Yes, and then some!
What I like and I’m sold on is being new to needing enhanced hearing these amplifiers are off the chart in increasing sound around you. It’s like Superman hearing all the voices all at once around him. These things hear just about everything all at once! So, it is sometimes hard to concentrate on specific conversations with multiple people talking. Which is better than missing and not hearing conversations before using these babies! But what I can say is the BEST thing about these are is that I have always stayed up late watching TV. With my hearing loss I have the volume mostly at around 64% to 72% which is sometimes a strain hearing the TV and is too high for my family. My elderly mother in law sometimes stuffs a towel under her door to help block some of my TV volume. I’m smiling and laughing right now! All kidding aside, miraculously now with these amplifiers which resembles the popular apple devices and not obvious hearing aids I can put the TV volume on 30% and it sounds like 100% original TV volume and louder! What a gift for the early morning risers! For that reason alone these are spectacular! I also use these watching TV with my wife so she can sleep easier! The Cons!! When using the water sprayer in the Kitchen these are so loud that the water sounds like my head is inside the popcorn popper. Very loud popping, cracking! I haven’t taken the time to figure out how to decrease the volume yet. Too busy enjoying my new “Super Hearing”! And lastly, when everything is quiet and TV volume is off, there is a constant air moving sound even when the air and furnace is off. Minor trade off for much improved Very Fun hearing, BTW, if you have both right and left devices out of your ears and in your hand and are within a foot and a half of each other they will whistle! Till you either put them back in your ear or back in the charger.
