Science Stuff Petri Dishes with Agar and Swabs (TM) Small Science Fair Project Kit

These petri dishes were exactly what my grandson needed to conduct his experiment. The additional instructions were also greatly appreciated, along with the prompt delivery.

GARBAGE. It grew absolutely nothing and now we have nothing for the Science Fair. We swabbed a dog and human mouth. Both of those should of grown something, easily. I was a Clinical Lab Scientist in a hospital for over 20 years. Part of my job was culturing specimens. It's not that hard to get stuff to grow. My 4th grader is EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. There is another review from the end of February 2015 and nothing grew for them either. What a HUGE WASTE of my time and money. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT.

This kit was exactly what we needed for the science fair. It was a little pricier than buying the petri dishes alone, but I liked getting the extra directions, swabs, etc. And, my 10 year old daughter wanted to make the Petri dishes herself. We only had enough agar for 7 full petri dishes, which was fine. But, we did have to change our sample design slightly. I'm sure there is enough to make all 10, but there is no way to be sure you are measuring accurately so I guess we overfilled a couple. That said, I would still buy it again.

Ordered this for a 4th grade science project and was very worried about doing this right since I am not a science person but the easy instructions, the packet explaining the Scientific Principle, Hypothesis, etc was soooo helpful! We had enough agar there was actually some left over, the swabs come packaged individually and the petri dishes are easy to handle. The plastic is a little weak and I'd be concerned if we might drop one but leaving them on the counter we shouldn't have a problem at all. You will need rubber bands and distilled water that isn't included but those are pretty easy to come by. We started our project last night and can't wait to start watching stuff grow!

Worked great! I bought this product for my daughter's science project. It worked well and it arrived earlier than I expected. Dishes were sterile and we were able to achieve our objectives. If anyone is in need of this type of product for a science project, I recommend buying from this seller.

These came in handy for my child's science project. Where he went to collect and the results that were yielded... I honestly wash the nooks and crannies more. It was fun, easy, disgusting and rewarding ("A" report). I look forward to using this later with my youngest.

This worked great for my son's science project. The kit came with detailed instructions and some informational material on how to conduct a study. Easy and clear cut instructions on how to assemble the Petri dishes. He got an "A"!

My granddaughter loved it. The packaging was oddly lacking which was kind of nice. It looked like a real set of Petri dishes rather than a kids toy.
