The best!
These pruning shears are absolutely perfect! They are perfect for my extremely petite hands, super sharp, lightweight, and are easy and comfortable to use. They are very easy to clean—I clean mine after every use with warm water and dish soap. I will say, I have noticed if you don’t dry them off after washing (I just use a paper towel), it will leave some rust spots. However, I was able to get the rust spots off with a steel wool soap pad. They are able to cut through some pretty thick and tough limbs—impeccable performance. I highly recommend them.

Best Pruners You Will Ever Buy
These pruners are absolutely fantastic. As always, I do in-depth research on nearly every product I buy. The Felco pruners received excellent reviews, just the same as the one I'm giving here. They are very comfortable in your hands. The spring and damper (when fully closed) provide outstanding comfort. In addition, the blade is razor sharp. You can tell as soon as you pick them up they are nothing but a quality, well-engineered tool. The Felco F2 seemed a bit large for my hands, so I ordered the F6 and F14 (for medium and small hand size) to determine which one I preferred. I may end up keeping them both! I will never buy another brand but Felco! Spend a couple extra bucks on these quality pruners and you won't be disappointed. ALL parts of the pruner are replaceable by Felco. These pruners will last you a lifetime. And no, I am not getting paid a cent for this review!

The Only Choice for Professionals and Life-Long Gardeners
A garden-loving friend had been exceptionally kind helping me out after an injury, and I needed a really good present to express my appreciation, something that might last longer than a huge box of extra-expensive chocolates, and ideally, of course, a gift that might inspire happy thoughts when used in a fond pursuit. There's no pretending Felco Pruners are inexpensive. There are dozens on the market at a small fraction of the price, but you'd be lucky if they lasted an entire season. Felco's are one of those increasingly rare items crafted to last a lifetime. The carbon steal blade can be removed for a serious sharpening. Or if they happened to be left out in the wet too long (or if you just can't be bothered & want super-sharp fast), replacement blades are readily available at a reasonable cost, as indeed are all the moving parts like the spring and the catch. These are the hand-pruners of choice for both professional landscapers and dedicated home gardeners who know that a tad of thoughtful care will pay off in a lifetime's enjoyment. I recommend also treating yourself to one of the two models of leather holster to keep them readily within reach on your belt every time you venture into the garden. For my friend, I chose the F-6, which is better scaled for smaller hands, and is an excellent all-around tool for everything from gathering bouquets to pruning roses and medium-sized shrubs. Felco makes a dozen or so variations designed larger or stronger hands and a variety of applications.Myself I own two pair: the first was a bonus on my first professional garden job over a quarter century ago, the classic Felco F-2, and they are still the ones I reach for first. A dozen years ago, I treated myself to the larger, longer-gripped Felco F-13's, which are the only thing for pruning thicker branches in quarters too tight for the usual long-handled loppers or trimmers.Chose carefully, as you would for any friendship you expect to last a lifetime.Incidentally, if I find yourself in the kitchen and needing to cut apart some variety of fowl or game bird, a quick wash with hot water and dish soap allows the Felco's to make quick work the job. Myself, I send them through the dishwasher after use, just on general principles. Then afterwards I treat my shiny-clean clippers to a dab of 3-in-1 (or any sort of mineral oil--including baby (!)--works fine, even olive oil in a pinch) on the blade and any moving parts, and wipe down thoroughly with a soft cloth. Good as new!

Professional Quality Pruner
I have worked at a commercial Floriist and Greenhouse for 18 years. I was introduced to Felco pruners by my girlfriend, who works there also and has the job of making grave blankets and decorative swags from live evergreen branches. She said that she wished she had a pair of Felco 6 pruners because the pruners supplied by the Greenhouse could not stand up to the strain of making 100+ grave blankets in a season. The handle hinge would always work loose, making cutting very difficult, as this causes the blades to become misaligned. I bought her a pair as a gift and was immediately impressed by the high quality of the product. The parts are replaceable and the handle hinge is easily adjustable if it works loose due to hard use. She has small hands and has no trouble using them. However, I wear size size Large gloves and the handles are large enough for me to use comfortably. The main difference between the F6 and other Felco pruners is that the cutting blades are shorter and shaped differently, which makes it easier to make precise cuts. This makes them popular with the other Florists fo making flower arrangements. Although the F6 is rated for material up to 3/4”, they are better suited to material that is 1/2” or less, especially if you need to cut hard, dry woody material. I recommend using long handled lopping shears for cutting larger branches.. Always use the proper tool for whatever job you are doing. It will make the job much easier. I have read negative reviews on Amazon complaining about the “poor quality” of the Felco F6. I believe that these reviews are from people whe got imitation “knock off” pruners, not genuine Felco F6’s. The poor reviews state that the pruners were marked “MADE IN CHINA” or “MADE TO CHINA”. Genuine Felco products are clearly marked “SWISS MADE”. As fo the complaints about the blades rusting, it is important to remember that the cutting blades are hardened carbon steel, NOT stainless steel. They will rust if they are not oiled after use. Some plants have corrosive sap that makes the blade rust more easily if I’d is not oiled. These pruners are top quality and will last the average gardener a lifetime if properly cared for. I highly recommend them. They are well worth the extra cost. For me there is nothing more aggravating than a cheap tool that wears out quickly, so do yourself a favor and buy genuine Felco products.
