I grew up around Italian brands of olive oil my entire life. I was never a fan of the taste, but it's what my Italian family used, so it's the only taste I knew. For years I followed in their footsteps. I'm Italian. You never go against the family! :o)That all changed in a big way last year when I was browsing Amazon, and out of nowhere I decided to go against the family and try a can of Greek olive oil. I have no idea what made me do it, but I am so glad I did. I selected PJ KABOS based on a couple of reviews, and I was honestly not at all prepared for how absolutely delicious it was. From the moment I opened that very first can, I knew it was something special...that first whiff was amazing. I could actually smell fresh cut grass and spicy ripe olives. It smelled nothing like any Italian olive oil I had ever smelled in my entire life. (Sorry Mama. Sorry Grandma. I mean no disrespect to the family.) After being completely mesmerized by the amazing aroma, I couldn't wait to taste it. Peppery fresh, ripe olives and green grass, buttery and rich, smooth as silk...almost indescribably delicious! It tasted nothing like any Italian olive oil I ever tasted. (Sorry Dad. Sorry Aunty. I'm out of the will.)Seriously! Since that very first taste of PJ KABOS Greek Extra Virgin Olive Oil last year, it has become my favorite oil and brand. I say that with complete certainty because I tried a few other Greek brands after last year's batches were completely sold out. None compared to PJ KABOS. Not even close. I also have to say that James, the owner, grower and creator extraordinaire of this liquid bliss, is absolutely the nicest man I have ever had the pleasure of doing business with. We have communicated via e-mail a few times and I always look forward to hearing from him. I've never met a businessman like James. Remarkable!So, when I saw this latest variety was available, I couldn't wait to give it a try. I bought the small bottle to sample first, and to my absolute delight it does not disappoint. It has the same distinctive grassy aroma and peppery flavor profile synonymous with the PJ KABOS brand. And to my very happy tastebuds - it is remarkably similar to my last year's favorite (PJ KABOS Family Reserve) - mmm, it's so good!I'm back to buy the big, huge can. I feel like family now. :o)

I'm amazed to see so many reviews by people claiming they can't tell the difference between this and extra virgin olive oil. I'd actually just finished a bottle of the PJ Kabos EVOO, so I could taste the difference between those two specifically, but I can also tell it in a more general way that this is not EVOO. It's decent, but it's missing the spicy, peppery, grassy notes that make a great oil. I would by no means classify this as a great olive oil. You could switch this out with the Pompeii stuff from the grocery and not know the difference. I usually buy Partanna EVOO, and once this huge tin is done, I'll switch back to that. I'm kind of disappointed. It's a good value, but now I have a big tin of oil that only tastes so-so.

Great tasting oil! If all greek olive oil tastes this good, then I'll never buy Italian olive oil again. It has way more flavor than the stuff you typically find at your local grocery store. If you want an olive oil with a fresh, vibrant olive taste, buy PJ KABOS, you will not be disappointed.

Simply the best virgin olive oil out there.Far superior than most other brands evoo. Amazing flavor for a cooking oil.And the PJ Kabos extra virgin? Well I haven't been there but I imagine that it is the oil of choice in heaven.Customer service second to none.

This OO is the product of a company that loves what it does, and are the BEST at what they do. I've had 3 different varieties of OO from PJ KABOS. All 3 the best.

The best love the taste and how it is one source origin. Out of all olive oils this one is head and shoulders above competition. I use it for salads and cooking. The price is a little high but thats what I am paying for the quality!!

Product was as advertised

This oil is excellent for sautéing and for salads and bread. Will definitely buy it again.Bought it again in October. It's gone up by $5.00 but this oil is well worth it.
