This is a strong, stylish speaker stand, highly recommended.I have an entertainment center grotto in a space under the stairs, large enough for a 55" tv. I wanted to hear the center placed above the TV, since it had fit under the tv before and was too low. The stand was a safe way to try the placement, but I ended up repositioning the set with its own stand, and placing the center a bit higher, directly beneath the TV rather than on a lower shelf.I have been watching 3D movies in VR, using the 7.1.4 sound system, so on those occasions I am still using the stand to raise the height of the center speaker to match the height to ear level for all speakers; it doesn't matter if the speaker blocks the TV in the grotto, because my virtual movie screen appears larger than the room, and the sound is better than I can hear in any local cinema.

This stand is extremely sturdy, and was the perfect choice, for holding my center channel speaker.
