Welding Rod, HDPE, 5/32 In, Natural, PK34

It is a big bag of sticks. I bought it to repair an RV water tank. It is difficult to work with, the rod takes a lot of heat to melt it, much more than the tank. I pre-heat the rod and get it near melted (turns clear) and then heat the tank,but the tank still melts before I can get the rod to melt to the tank. User error? Maybe. I think I needed a smaller diameter stick/rod or one that melts easier for the RV water tank.
