Lessons from a Scandalous Bride
Lessons from a Scandalous Bride was a cute and sometimes steamy read, although it didn't quite live up to the first book. This time we meet one of Grier's half-sisters, Cleo. Their father has just collected her from her very full home and brought her to live with him and hopefully find a titled husband. Cleo has no interest in love or passion. She just wants a man whom she can live comfortably with and provide for her many siblings. Which is why she's been courting an 80 year old earl. At least until Logan McKinney comes to Town to bag himself an heiress.I liked Lessons from a Scandalous Bride. I found the set up to be unique, even if it didn't lend itself to much action or conflict. Cleo doesn't want to end up like her mother who is pregnant every 9 months and keeps having to bury children and babies. She figures the best way is to avoid young men, as to not fall into temptation. It's easier said than done when Logan makes his intentions toward her known. Obviously things have to happen to cause Cleo to see how wrong she was to try to avoid love and lust, and those things are passionate kisses. Nothing terribly scandalous, sadly.Lessons from a Scandalous Bride was good, but left me underwhelmed, especially since the first book left me smiling like mad. There really was no relationship conflict other than Cleo not wanting to have sex with her husband. The matter with her evil stepfather could have been interesting and emotional, but it fell into the background and was over almost before it could begin. I did really love the beginning when Cleo was deadset on marrying a man older than her grandfather, but once she started her affair with Logan it kind of started to fizzle out.

A Delightful Story!
Cleo Hadley, the illegitimate daughter of one of London's richest and most unsavory characters, has agreed to marry a man with a title and fulfill her father's dream. She's even found the perfect candidate--an ancient earl who can never be a husband in the bedroom.Scottish lord, Logan McKinney may be impoverished but he'd hoped to marry an heiress he at least found tolerable. He'd never expected to meet a woman as exciting as Cleo. Women have always thrown themselves at him, and yet Cleo prefers the company of a decrepit old man to his. When he tempts her with a kiss, her passion is awakened but she's still determined to marry the earl. The last thing Cleo wants is a handsome, virile young husband--a lesson she learned from her mother's tragic life--so why can't she resist Logan's kiss or his touch? And if she doesn't marry the earl quickly, her stepfather will surely make good on his terrible threats.I'll admit there were times in the story I thought I knew where these two were headed, only for Ms. Jordon to take them in an expected direction. Cleo has very logical reasons for wanting a husband in name only, reasons she can't share with anyone, much less Logan. Meanwhile, Logan knows what he wants and for the first time in his life must treat a woman as his equal if he's to have any chance of winning her.Once again Ms. Jordan has created a worthy hero and heroine who grow and open up in order to earn their happily-ever-after. I love that Logan is not a rake, a scoundrel, or wild young rogue of the ton, but an honorable man doing his duty. That he wants to care for the woman he marries only makes him better. Cleo is a loving daughter and sister whose sense of responsibility often misguides her, but I cheered her on as she found her way to happiness with her dashing Scot. A thoroughly delightful historical romance that belongs on everyone's keeper shelf!

Nice.
This was a nice read. I have enjoyed the series so far, and the author is a favorite. My only complaint is that it seemed to jump from settings and emotions rather quickly. I guess what I am saying is that in the settings, emotions, and descriptions could have been written with much more finesse. The romance scenes were great, but everything else felt rushed. Don't get me wrong, it's a good book worth a read. These are just my own personal feelings :)

Well done
I actually liked this story quite a bit. There were a few parts that seemed to be a tad silly, but overall it was satisfying. The characters behaved in a logic manner, which I appreciated and they possessed traits I actually admired. Well done.

Loved it
Wonderful, romantic, couldn't put it down. There should be a sequel with appropriate punishment for Ladda and Hamilton. Mary should go. She'll cause nothing but trouble.

2 stars and I am being kind
I am at 91% and I consider the book read. Honestly I had reached this conclusion at 50% but thought I must give credit to the author and at least see what happens after they decided to get married.Well, nothing happened.Cleo refused to have sex. Hero (can't even remember his name and I read this book yesterday.) tried and must have her or he would die of erectin. Then Cleo went crazy and acted like some slut high on drug and played with his private part. Then Cleo saw him with another girl, acted stupid and felt betrayed (why????? woman you won't sleep with him anyways). then crazy Cleo flipped out and wanted to go back to London. On the way she wanted to go back to Logan (oh my god his name is Logan!!!) Logan was hurt while repairing the castle. Cleo arrived and helped dig him out. There, 91%, I can't imagine what plots could magically saved this pathetic story. 9% is sadly too late and too little.I felt I had to let go. This is not a good story

Beautiful read
I felt so much for Cleo... The beginning almost made me cry and then, as usual with Sophie Jordan, I was just swept in the tale and couldn't put it down. I loved this book very much.

Great story as usual from this author
I agree with the amazon.com reviews that other than the end begin a little abrupt this was a great addition to this series. Love this author and this didn't disappoint.
