Full disclosure: I received this product for free in order to write a review.I've had a couple of laptop stands / cooling solutions in the past. Both of my previous two had a frame made entirely of metal and I assumed that was a plus. I'm pleasantly surprised that the plastic and metal construction of this item gives it a sturdier feeling than the pure metal construction of the others. This is particularly important to me as I'm a vigorous typist. The ECOLA cooler does not flex or more at all when I type, a definite requirement.As for the cooling, I don't know if the fans are necessary, my laptop stays cool with just the cooling pad to keep it up off the carpet. I did turn the fans on to see how loud they were and they are as quite as my laptop's internal cooling fan, which is pretty low volume.There is a pass-through for the USB port used to power the fans. Another feature I won't personally use but its' nice to have.The cooling pad can be used flat or some nicely wide plastic legs can flip out the back to hold your laptop at an angle. It's only a specific angle but at this price point that's the mechanism I would expect.If you use your laptop on carpet or a bed it's a must to keep the laptop from overheating itself or overheating your battery and shortening it's lifespan. If you primarily work at a desk or other hard surface, I suspect this item would be more of a hindrance than a plus.

I've used three other cooling pads for my gaming lappy, but with all of them I still suffered with uncomfortably high (and highly unsettling) temperatures. I decided to give this unit a try after reading the reviews online. So far the computer hasn't powered off once, the fans haven’t gotten obnoxiously loud as most ASUS ROG laptops do -_-. The fans keep plenty of air moving and keep the laptop cool and all while pleasantly being quiet than my previous coolers. I would recommend this cooler to anyone who has overheating issues with their laptop, or doesn’t like baking their gaming surface, I’m not sure if this is a big deal for others, but for me the thing that stood out to me the most was the design, it was fully functional as a cooler, but the design also allowed my 15” ASUS ROG to sit perfectly without worrying that it was going to slide off (even when angled) and there is an extra USB port for convenience.

Quiet and moves a decent amount of air. The rear feet are fairly sturdy though not adjustable and do have a bit of rubber anti skid feet. I own a lot of laptops and overall this does a good job and keeping them cool, that has a side effect of upping frame rates while gaming on the ones that can not dissipate the heat and throttle down CPU/GPU to compensate a common issue with very thin laptops. I will say the LED is very bright and rather unneeded as an indicator as the fans are on. The USB power is a bit odd it's a USB A to USB A nonstandard nonspec cord so hard to find a replacement.

First thing I noticed was the Quality Construction. It feels nice and rigid. It definitely Cools my Laptop down and works better than my previous more well known brand Laptop Cooler that was twice the price. I do notice it produces a more audible hum but that is due to the speed of those fans pushing all that air so its not at all that bad. the Only Negatives and reasons why i did not give it 5 Stars is 1 the USB cable it uses is not the more Common Micro or Mini USB Cables everybody has tons of so you want to keep it in a safe place and not lose it and the other is related to that in which my previous Cooler had a Cable Storage compartment which was Convenient for Keeping that cable always with the Cooler and Safe. Overall this is a Nice Efficient Cooler and for the Price it is a Great Buy. I would Definitely Recommend this Cooler as its Good for Various Size Laptops and Cools Effectively.

works much better than my 5 fan cooling pad. Keep an extra cable handy, the ones included in these devices usually don't last long.
