Works perfectly for me
I'm using this plate with a Dell adapter plate so that I could mount my Acer S230HL monitor on a Dell stand. I'm a taller guy so I really need my monitors up pretty high for ergonomics. This adapter plate does mount the monitor up pretty high, and the Dell stand I'm using was designed for a 27 inch monitor so it's also pretty tall. I understand this adapter wasn't designed for this kind of thing in mind, but it does work perfectly. Dell's stands are some of the best on the market and we had some spares at home. My monitor sits about 8 inches taller than it would on its original stand. Previously, I had it sitting on a ton of old college textbooks so it looks much, much better just attached to a monitor stand, and I have a little more desk room. The ergonomics are perfect for my height now so color me impressed. On to what I do think is applicable to more users. I've seen some complaints about how this thing is mounted in regards to stability. Again, I'm using the S230HL. There's a plate that acts as a washer that you'll very much need to use with this. I turned it so that the recessed side is where the screws are held down. If I give my monitor a little tug here or there, it doesn't seem incredibly stable. The screws are screwed into plastic so if I were mounting this on a VESA stand, I would be leery about handling it by the monitor itself. If you're like me, and you'll never move your monitor after it's set up, it's perfectly fine in terms of stability so no real complaints in this department. As for ease of installation, there really aren't any instructions for this thing. You'll have to inspect your own monitor and determine how you're going to mount it to this plate. I'm sure they're all pretty similar. It's fairly straightforward if you're mechanically inclined.Overall, I'm pretty happy with this thing. It's breathed new life into an old rinky dinky monitor that I'm suddenly having to dig out of the closet again because I'm working from home. Pretty good value for money, too.

Easy to install, perfect compatibility with Acer S220HQL
Works perfectly on an Acer S220HQL. Easy to install, the adapter itself is very sturdy though the design is inherently weak at the connection between the monitor and the adapter. I don't believe there will be any issues as long as the user adjusts the monitor position using a the adapter/stand and not by pulling on the monitor.

Mounted perfectly to my Acer h236hl but there are a few issues.
I managed to mount my acer without needing any of the washers, so it was a perfect fit in that regard, but as seen in the pic the only port I had easy access to was the hdmi, this is a bit of an issue as I need the HDMI on my graphics card to use with my oculus rift. I tried getting my DVI cable in there with no luck, so I am left with swapping in and out with the oculus when I want to use it even though I have an unused DVI port. The other issue i ran into is that this puts the weight of the monitor farther forward and mad the screen want to tilt forward, I was able to solve this on my dual monitor stand but tightening the tilt point, but some stands don't really have this option so it could be an issue for some, so be forewarned.

Doesn't fit S240HL as described. Problems with tapped holes. Ugly.
The stand of the monitor is designed to account for the thickness of the base to which it attaches. The included washers do not make up for the thinness of the sheet metal bracket. On top of this, I found two of the 8 screw taps to be defective to the point I couldn't seat the screw completely.Even if I were to take the time to modify the mount to work with the monitor, the result in the end would be ugly and kludgy. It'd be better to completely replace the stand so that it's out of sight.

Not What I needed but a Good Product
Didn't fit my needs but seemed sturdy and well made.

Not a very good fit.
The product works and I was able to mount my monitor but its not very sturdy due to the mount having only one screw on the bottom which causes the monitor to shake when touched, I was unable to use the extra two holes on the sides of the bottom bracket and I had to use the screw that came with the monitor.

Wobbles.
works perfectly fine for my monitors. there is a bit of a wobble to them so if it's super important for you to have a rock solid mount this might not be for you. Install was easy just remove the base from the monitor and reuse the screw to attach the mount to the monitor shaft.

Exactly what I needed
I have an old G236HL that had no mounting holes on it but I wanted to use it for my home office. Luckily this bracket exists and I'm so glad it does.Installation was no more than 5 minutes. It does stick out a bit from the monitor (a solid 3-4 inches) but it's par for the course considering the monitor didn't have mounts anyway.

Great
Quite sturdy. But because of the way it has to fit. It'll never be Rock solid. But much better than expected

Adds Bulk
This is a great product if you have a monitor that isn't VESA compatible, that you need to be. It attaches nicely to the stem of the existing stand, in place of the original base. This then attaches to the VESA compatible stand or bracket and works well enough. However, the way it connects to the monitor means that it not only adds extra height to the monitor (not a huge deal as most stands will be height adjustable, but it also adds depth to the stand. In my use case, it meant the monitor stuck out too far on my desk to allow me to have my laptop beneath it.I also found that on my monitor the back of the panel on this was too close to the ports meaning I had to get some slimmer adapters to plug this into anything.Overall, this is a good solution to adapting your existing monitor to be VESA compatible, but in the long term, it is probably easier to get a new monitor.
