Finally a Professional Chef Knife in my Kitchen Drawer!
Everyone talks about the box it comes in, and it's true that it looks nice when it arrives, but that's the last time you will likely be using the box, if you prep food a lot, so let's talk about the knife. This knife is awesome! Definitely five stars. The price for this knife is outstanding. I do a lot of cutting at my church where we have some professional chef knives and this one cuts as well as those and better than most of them. I have medium sized guy hands and the knife feels strong and solid, and its size is long enough to cut for all my needs (I was worried it would be a little small but it isn't).For me, cutting onions is one of the best tests. As you get closer to the end of the onion, the blade continued to cut through the onion like butter, keeping it from moving around on the board and potentially having the knife slide at my fingers. It cuts through everything I've used it on very nicely. It seemed like all of the reviews are from 2018, as is this one, so we are all new owners. I'm wondering how long it will keep its edge, and how well it sharpens. I saw one reviewer that complained it was slippery when wet. Seemed like operator error to me. Maybe wipe that olive oil off the handle before using. :) Love the knife. Many happy cuts in your future and it will not set you back!

For the money, OK. You get a bit more than what you paid for.
The knife came semi sharp, with minor work, I got it shaving sharp. The blade is thin and light, sharpened to a very narrow angle like a real Japanese gyuto- But nowheres near as hard or as good a quality of steel as a decent Japanese knife. Abuse it even slightly, the edge will roll. Best you should have a honing steel and know how to use it if you need to do any serious amount of work with this blade. But at this size and somewhat usable quality level for 1/10th the price of an entry level Japanese knife? If you are broke and need a chef's knife AND you know how to sharpen? You could do OK with this. You won't be passing it on to your children, but hey, less than $20.00 US.Handle ergonomics, fit & finish are functional but not great. Steel is plain Jane and not hard enough for the narrow angle of grind, it DOES come out of the box useablely sharp, sort of. Spend 2X as much for a Victorinox Fibrox, yiu will have a better knife. But 2X the price. Pay your money and make your choices.(Edit)3 months later:I took the time to re form the bevel on 400 grit diamond plate and 500 grit water stone, then re sharpened the blade. I am quite happy with the performance now, if you know how to set a bevel angle and sharpen, this is quite a good value for the tiny cost. The handle does not have "hot spots", I did round the spine of the blade where my fingers contact for a "pinch grip". It is comfortable to use, blade is light and thin, it's not 64 RHC but it is also quite easy to resharpen.Overall, decent for the price if you can work on a blade.

Don’t hesitate! Name brands be jealous!
This knife makes me regret the hundreds of dollars I spent on my high end brand name knives! While I’m not sure hardness of the steel will hold up to some others this knife has been great. It arrived sharp enough to shave (don’t do it though!), and I sharpened only twice after owning it nearly a year. My family is full of kitchen professionals and this knife always makes them stop and ask where I got it! In short, don’t hesitate buy it! I came back and left this review because I was hoping they had other knives available to add to this one.

Not all that great
This knife is OK. It does the job. It's a little too light and is not well balanced. It was not as sharp as other Chef's knives I have purchased and definitely loses its edge faster than the knife I used before buying this one (which I kept, and is sharper than this one now, despite the fact that the old knife is 4 years old). Overall, I feel it's certainly not top quality or even really good quality.

It's so amazing and so sharp
I just receive it 2 weeks ago. It's so amazing and so sharp. But they gave me a one sided knife and it is only for left handed. So I just give it 2 stars bcoz why can u sell or deliver a knife without saying that this is one sided. When u also cut straight it going a bit left side. So I cut my finger when I'm cutting squash. I'm a little disappointed with this.

4 Years of mild abuse and it is just now coming apart
It's a decent knife, especially for the price. Lasted us about 4 years and now has some obvious chips and splits on the blade edge. Some look a little too big to be ground out but maybe we'll try :) We definitely have not babied the knife, but never put it in the dishwasher etc. Overall I'd say a good purchase we don't regret. If you're better at taking care of knives than us it will probably last you longer.

DO NOT BUY! I have no idea what the good reviews are all about.
Just like many previous reviewers I also bought this knife due to the amazing reviews it has gotten and because I generally trust Amazon's ratings however I think I may have made a mistake in this time around by purchasing this knife. It is probably the worst performing knife out of all the knifes I currently own. I am not a knife affectionato or a chef but I can tell something is wrong when a cheap $14 "Good Chef" brand knife from Target out-performs a knife that is supposed to be an amazon best seller. I sharpen all of my own knifes and this one will not hold an edge for the life of me. No matter if I sharpen it for 10 minutes or 30 minutes. It gets barely sharp and cuts way worse than any of my other knives. I would not recommend you wasting your money on this knife. Go with a GLOBAL or SHUN brand instead.

I love this knife
I've never used a knife as nice as this (granted I'm not a chef), I had been using the knife for easy jobs such as slicing cheese, cutting vegetables, etc but this weekend I cut chicken with it, and it was very sharpe and worked perfectly. The handle is also really nice, wood grain with nice metal accents. The packaging was also very high quality, would be great as a gift
