It's professional grade tape , it turns unbelievably tight corners,has just the right amount of tack "strong but releases fairly easily " it's my go to tape for masking any pro finish application

Used this tape to make white walls on my golf cart tires. It was a game changer! I originally tried regular Frog tape to tape off the rounded tires. That didn't work out well at all; the tape was just to thick to get a good rounded look. I ordered the 1/8 inch tape first, but realized that may be too small, so I got the 1/4 inch tape for the initial taped off area, then I used the bigger Frog tape to tape up the rest of the tire. No leaks at all from the 3M vinyl tape. It had a nice crisp rounded line. The tires turned out great!

It works great and looks good.

Top notch product. Formable to an extent, durable enough to stand up to brief sanding, will give very clean edges if you ensure it's stuck down properly.

You need to be careful regarding which 3M 471 tape you order depending on your purpose. I'm using it to mask contrasting color areas and non-skid areas in painting a fiberglass boat. The 471+ tape is more purple than blue in color and has a very aggressive adhesive which when used for masking can lift underlying paint even if it has been curing for some time. However, it is quite flexible, useful for masking oddball curves that you can't make with a circle cutter. I use the 1/8" width for that. The narrow width conforms easily and the strong adhesive allows the tape to stick well when bent and stretched to tight curves. For straighter runs where wider coverage is needed and where I can form curves with a circle cutter I use plain blue 471 in 1/4" to 3" widths, also available from Amazon. My experience is that (no '+' in the model number) 471 has a gentler, but effective, adhesive that is less likely to lift paint and leaves no adhesive residue on removal even when left in place for extended periods.

This tape had been so helpful for me in outlining my design to paint on my ceramic bowls. It adheres to the bisquewate. Does not leak. The vinyl is pliable to place the tape around curves.

I use this when building a guitar and have to mask for dyes. I mask and paint with a clear water based finish, usually Brite Tone, then when dry, I cover the Brite Tone with the tape and can dye right up to the tape with almost no bleed. This tape also sticks exceptionally well to wood and stretches nicely to go around curves.

Used on plexiglass for hallway signs. Sticks well and durable.

They stick to the floor well
