I already have a good net, but I wanted something shallow to pick up surface debris and discard quickly.You can't go immerse the net too far or debris will float out. It's meant to skim the very top.For the price I think it's fine, could be a little less but I knew what I was getting.This shouldn't be your main net. Also there's one photo that shows that only one of the 2 buttons used to secure to the poll is used. but it still works!

Great fine mesh for skimming small particles and pollen. Didn't fit on my pole due to the spacing of the holes though, so be aware. I'm actually using it as a hand skimmer, without a pole. I have found that it is most effective to skim with this net at a lower angle to the water. If you put it in the water at a 90 degree angle and skim, it pushes the water and debris out of the way rather than letting the water go through the mesh, and trapping the debris (because the mesh is so fine). Use more of a 45 degree angle, and the debris is more easily trapped rather than pushed.

Small net takes longer to do larger pool. Is better for small pools or spas Fine net weave "pushes" the water ahead when doing long strokes, so must "dip" the net to nab debris. But as a second net it is good for removing smaller debris that a larger net with larger weave would miss.

Great skimmer, exactly what I was looking for. This is not for use in getting out large amounts of debri or leaves. I use this for getting out those tiny particles, especially on the surface, that other nets or pump do not get and it works great for that. Going on second summer using it and still holding up. Also, these nets shouldn't be kept directly in the sun like all pool cleaning nets and brushes. Over time the sun will dry them out and make them brittle and break or fall apart faster. Will buy again when needed.

If you were buying this just for a spa/hot tub then you'd be okay. However, I bought this to replace my PoolMaster leaf skimmer that finally needed replacing after 14 years in SoCal. It was quick and easy to buy on Amazon but what a mistake. This thing is so tiny and feels very cheaply made, I had to laugh when I opened the box. Gold Edition implies it would be a quality tool but this is really bad. You'll want a bigger skimmer so you can skim at a fast enough speed without dumping everything back in the pool and not emptying constantly. One of my red tip Photinia trees decided it was spring and has been dropping a lot into the pool so timing was perfect to give this skimmer a go. To make it worse, it comes with a card in the package saying to activate your warranty, go to sharkblu.com/warranty. That takes you to a broken site that says the url is currently unavailable. What this product really feels like is someone bought a surplus from a shuttered business and is trying to get rid of them. Two stars for the extended clip so you don't pinch your finger putting it on the pole.

Works well for my purpose. I have a loose mesh net, I wanted a finer mesh to get the scum that goes through the looser mesh. This is so fine it wouldn't pass water through it out of the box - basically just pushed water & anything in the water in front of the net. I left it sit in the pool in the chlorine water overnight and blasted water through it with a hose, then it worked perfectly.

I've been using a large net for a while now and it's just too big for the occasional liard or frog I have to help out of my pool. This net is a great size and works well. It does seem a bit flimsy but, so far, I'm pleased with it. I guess time will tell how well it holds up. The price was right too, much better than the local pool place.

I'd like this product a lot more if I didn't have to use it without the handle because these seem to be made for a specialized handle. I'm disappointed but after I got over my mistake I ordered a different style which came with a lousy short handle. So since I'm only using this for a wading pool for the dogs these days, it will work in tandem with the even newer skimmer with the awful handle fit.It does seem to be sturdy and should survive an accidental shake which hits the ground.
