Beautiful Display Piece – Perfect Birthday Gift for My Son!
Review: My son got this for his 11th birthday, and he absolutely loved putting it together. The instructions were clear, and it was fun to watch it come to life. The best part is that we could hang it on the wall once it was finished, instead of it just sitting on a table or desk collecting dust. It's such a creative way to invest in LEGO and actually put it to good use. Now it’s a piece of art we can enjoy daily!Overall: Fantastic kit for both building and displaying.

The Great Wave, with some added depth!
Let me preface this by saying I've always been neutral on the actual painting itself. I appreciate the style and it's importance to Japanese history - but the aesthetic itself isn't quite for me, and it's not something I'd ever seek to hang a real print of in my house.Which leads me to giving this 5 stars! It's a great display piece, with some subtle 3D elements that add spectacular depth. The frame is built last, and when the final step happens (putting the pins into place to secure the "painting" with the "frame") - it's a true "wow" moment. Pictures of the final piece I think look deceptively small - it's a GREAT set.

Immensely enjoyable; a beautiful, playful reimagining.
I haven’t built a LEGO set since I was a kid, but when I saw the Great Wave off Kanagawa had been turned into an Art set, I had to have it. I’ll admit I was initially intimidated by the 1,810 pieces proclaimed on the box, but now that it’s complete after approximately 5 hours, part of me wishes there were more, so the build could continue. Assembling this reimagined work of art was a sublime pleasure.Overall notes:- The build guide booklet was top notch; very easy to follow, and intuitive, especially for the frame.- Building this work had a true flow; everything progressively and harmonically working towards the end result. Watching the waves build and rise up when I would take a step back to look at it was quite inspiring.- The accompanying podcast was incredibly interesting, informative, and made some of the more monotonous/repetitive portions of the build oddly pleasant. I could plug down seemingly endless circular color bricks while learning more than I ever imagined about the history and process of the original woodblock print.- The finished product is astounding, full stop.If you’re an adult who, like myself, hasn’t ventured into the brick world since childhood, trust that this is well worth the cost, and it is time well-spent.

The PERFECT gift
Lego outdid themselves with this set. Gifted this to my husband and he became a kid again. Once built, the frame includes spots where you can tie a wire or a string and hang it on the wall. Which we did, next to our Hokusai print.Highly suggest listening to the podcast while building. It tells the story of this project and all the folks involved into making this a reality. There’s even a story about the bird pieces and why they were used 😉Absolutely beautiful set!

One of the Best Lego Sets Around
Whether you're a fan of this piece of art or of Lego in general, you won't find a better looking set from Lego. It is quite a process putting it together, but there were no missing pieces, and few extra pieces. The instruction booklet is roughly the size of a novel, but for good reason: this set is almost 2000 individual pieces! Again, Lego has gone into incredibly thorough detail to make sure that the instructions are as foolproof as possible. That said, you may have to double-check yourself to make sure each piece is in the right spot. With the instructions carefully numbered by bag, you should be able to manage each subsection well, but double check placement compared to the instructions. Finally, the finished product is immaculate. It's based on one of the best pieces of art in history, and that translates very well into a three-dimensional piece. Most importantly, you put your own time and effort into this piece, making it something you can be proud to show off to guests.

Beautiful
I enjoyed putting this beautiful work of art together. The instructions were easy to follow and everything went together easily. It definitely takes concentration in order to make sure that the picture turns out like it should. I would love to do more of these if they are as beautiful as this. Thank you for recreating such a well known piece of art.
