Great Resource
This is a wonderful way to launch student-centered notebooks in my 6th grade science class. What better way for students to be excited about a notebook and to know scientists across time have used them?

nice
This book talks about how many people recorded observations which led to new science ideas and discoveries. The book includes brief biographies of scientists from a variety of individuals many of whom I had heard about and some I did not (I only heard of 9 out of 15). At the end of the book, it showed how kids could record their own observations (though it was was very brief and students would need more information to do it properly.)

Beautiful illustrations and poetry. Great science resource.
It’s a great resource for introducing students to science notebooks. I teach science and will definitely use it at the beginning of the year to encourage them to write and draw in their own science notebooks for what they observe and learn. I just wish it hadn’t included Charles Darwin and evolution. It is so hard to find material that doesn’t support that theory. I refuse to be responsible for any child ever not believing that God created the earth. He is the greatest scientist of all in my opinion. No, I don’t push my beliefs on students, but I do offset any mention of evolution with creation.

Notably Unique and Inspiring!
A wonderfully written book explaining the importance of documenting your observations to young scientists. Examples of Scientists come from a diverse background to help inspire all children.AND a copy of this book was sent to SPACE to be read aloud and recorded by ISS astronauts! Your child can hold the very same book that an astronaut read and follow along once the video is available through Storytime From Space.A perfect gift for a child who loves to observe the world around them to encourage them to channel those skills into a habit of investigation.

Great for science teachers who use notebooks
I've used this along with some photos off the internet to show high school students what science notebooks look like. The poetry is more for elementary students, but the idea of science notebooks is for everyone and I learned some new facts, too. The scientists include men, women, a person of color.

Buyer beware.... Order the hard back and get the paper back.
While I like this book, there seems to be no hard cover version. I have ordered the hard cover three times and have gotten the paper back each time.

Beautiful book!
Beautiful book! It's really more about notebooks as a valuable tool with examples from famous scientists to support that... not so much about the specific scientists and their notebooks.
