Video Game Security Bit Set (3.8mm & 4.5mm)

I bought these so I could exchange the red LED in my NTSC Nintendo 64 with a blue LED. They got the system open. I also wanted to do the RGB mod, but when I got my system opened, it was a newer motherboard that lacked the components for the RGB mod to work. The mod works for a 1996 board, mine is from 1997 and lacks the U4 chip. These tools got the job done. There goes $20 on a SNES RGB SCART Cable I can't use until I get an SNES.

after some searching i found this item, thought i would be able to use it to open my cable box to swap out hard drive but the bits did not work. the company was nice enough to take it back.

Good compagny, wasn't satified with the product thought.the 3.8 mm work ok, but the 4.5 had no enough grip.pro: cheap, useful, and good support from the providercon: hard to use, need to press really hard...overall: for a single repair that would perfectly do the trick, but I wouldn't recomment for continuous usage ex: repair shop.I

This kit worked great for opening up my NES games. It does exactly what it's supposed to do and seems on par with durability.

If you're planning to refurbish or repair old Nintendo based consoles or cartridges, then you'll need three tools in order to deal with the security screws involved. Two of those tools are these security bits.The security bits come in two sizes. The smaller 3.8mm piece is designed for the screws found on Nintendo cartridges, like the SNES or the Nintendo 64. Meanwhile the larger 4.5mm piece is for the actual consoles, again for the likes of the SNES and the N64. These security bits are useful. They're strong and sturdy. For me they certainly didn't become warped and stripped after a couple of uses, which is obviously good news.I've given them 3-Stars because the difficulty in using them on their own ranges from "very hard" to "pretty much impossible". You'll need to connect them to a T-handle tool in order to use them effectively, and I would recommend  the one on this link . But the bottom line is they do work. Use this to clean the inside of a nes cartridge. Used it many times and it doesn't seem to be wearing down. I haven't used the 4.5mm bit.

It is a very good product and it works great, but did not give it five stars because it is very expensive.
