Works as intended
Nice! These work well and are drop-in replacement for traditional D-cell Maglites. Seem about 4X brighter - maybe more (subjective). very bright even with old, measurably dying batteries. Focus is slightly disturbed, but since Maglites are adjustable, no big deal. very white light (high Kelvin scale) for better or worse. Worked in all 4 of my lights.

Good for 3V, great for 6V flashlights - not meant for 6V lantern batteries or 2x NiMH batteries
I used one of these bulbs to replace the old incandescent bulb in a 3V (2x Alkaline D cell) flashlight. The LED is brighter, whiter, and more efficient than an incandescent bulb. The LED draws 0.11A (1/3W) at 3v and produces considerably more light than the old incandescent which draws 0.36A (1.1W). So the LED is more than 3x as efficient and both the bulb and batteries should last longer even though the light will quit before the batteries are fully depleted. The main thing to note here is that at 3V, these are 1/3W lights, not 3W. However, they are still an upgrade over incandescent. Another important thing to keep in mind for flashlights with only 2 batteries is that 3V is near the lower limit for these bulbs; mine stopped working entirely around 2.4V so these bulbs are not for use with 2x NiCd or NiMH batteries; they require at least 2x alkaline or lithium batteries. I used another LED bulb to replace the incandescent bulb in a 6V lantern battery flashlight. I had to do some surgery on the flashlight (see photo) because lantern batteries have their polarity opposite what's needed for these bulbs (the center post on a lantern battery is negative but needs to be positive for the LED bulb). Fortunately, it's easy to solder wires to the bulbs so I reversed the connections. At 6V, the LED lamps draw nearly 0.5A (3W); the same amount an incandescent bulb draws so the battery life should be the same. The LEDs are *much* brighter; really really bright - I'm still seeing spots, so they are definitely more efficient. My main worry in the 6V lantern is that the LED bulbs will overheat. Dissipating 3W is challenging and the reflectors in most flashlights are plastic so they won't sink much heat. However, at least for short on-times, the LEDs are incredibly bright with 6V and my hope is that if they start to overheat, they will reduce their power consumption by dimming rather than by failing. I'll post the results either way. If you decide to use these in a lantern flashlight that uses the big rectangular-cube lantern batteries with the two spring contacts on top, be aware that the center post of the battery is negative (not what the LED bulb needs) so you'll have to reverse the wiring. Fortunately, the LED bulbs are easy to solder wires to so I cut off the contacts that normally connect the batteries to the bulb in this flashlight and soldered wires instead to reverse the polarity; it worked like a champ.

Very Awesome!
Bright and awesome! Such an easy fix to an old light!

Certain lights might require polarity reversal as these are after all light emitting DIODES.
Worked well in almost all of my lights. A little less impressive in terms of brightness with two D cells. In three of my lights with reversed polarity I had to put the batteries in backward and then they worked well. Great retrofit for my mag lights.

Worked great.
I found 3 large old mag lights in a box in our garage. Was going to through them out as the light was orangish and subdued. Then thought I could replace them with Xenon bulbs. Went to Amazon and found these LED's that use less power and are just a bright. Also replaced the lenses. For less than the cost of new good flashlight I now have 3 very useful mag lights again.
