Don't Splash the Sasquatch! (A Sasquatch Picture Book, 1)

What a FUN book! We originally checked this book out at the library, and because we read it a MILLION times, we decided to purchase a copy! We have gifted this book to a few friends as well! It definitely makes our little guy giggle. DON’T SPLASH THE SASQUATCH has became a very common phrase in our household! Our guy was 2 1/2 when we first read it, and now almost 3 1/2 he has memorized it and can almost read it to us :)

What a fun book. So many interesting words to read out loud to the little ones. Makes them laugh.

Don't Splash the Sasquatch! just might turn out to be the story time book of the summer! The illustrations and text are both delightfully silly, featuring a hilarious assortment of creatures (Octo-Rhino, Goat-Whale, Loch-Ness-Monster-Space-Alien) and a repeating phrase that is made for group read alouds. Bob Staake's distinctive illustrations are bold and hilarious, while Redeker has come up with one of my favorite picture book words ever. "We squizzlefied the Sasquatch!" Just say that out loud and try not to smile.This book is clearly made for story time, and if you are looking for a raucous bit of fun more in tune with silliness than substance then this is an excellent choice. There are plenty of opportunities for the audience to participate, and with a spirited reading, any story time leader can sit back and listen to the laughter. A true treat.
