Perfect for the job! I used this for a small buffing wheel to clean the inside of a tall stainless thermos mug. (Actually three of them). I was needing a way to reach the bottom of the mug, and the 6 inch size was perfect for it. The 12 inch size is made exactly the same. I have seen two concerns cropping up in questions about these. FIrst... the female end that receives your tool... (In my case a round 1/4" shank/shaft for my buffing wheel)... It is machined to hold hex shank bits, but no worries! It is perfect also for 1/4" round shanks/ shafts. This is because the round type is 1/4" in diameter, while the hex is 1/4" flat to flat, not point to point. The other concern was about the set screw. These are typical allen set screws and the wrench provided is right for the job. They are not "soft". You just need to use your tool properly! With misuse anything can break!. In my case there was one small "adjustment" that needed to be made. ONE of the set screws turned hard, and acted like it was seating before it contacted the shank. By working the set screw back and forth a couple of turns, 2 or three times, it cleaned up what I assume was a burr that initially prevented it seating. NO PROBLEM. This tool was exactly as expected, and anyone used to using tools will have no problem with it! Buy with confidence. It will do the job!

Good product. Heat treated steel. Older design, but one that works. Arrived two days later that promised, causing inconvenience. What good is a tool that is somewhere else when you need it?

Purchased this drill bit to create a hole for a peephole in my door. Did a very good job, creating a nice smooth hole. The peephole drum slid into the opening and there were no splintering of the door facing. Very pleased.

Durable extension, used for drilling through about 3-6 ply 2×4's with a 7/8" Spade bit, but I'm positive you could use a larger bit with no problems.ALWAYS PUT TAPE ON THE SET SCREWS OR THEY WILL FALL OUTAllen keys are the best way to go as if you put a 1/4" bit in a quick connect one, you'll snap the bottom of the bit off and they don't come out nicely. So in my opinion, only get extensions with Allen keys
