It works wonders, but the smell is not that pleasant. It's a good thing this is a pre-shampoo because it's a powerful smell without anything masking it.

Amazing oil! It has successfully saved my dry, frizzy, dirty blond hair, broken, coarse hair that has suffered for years with low porosity. I just could not seem to find the right products to add moisture to my hair, and now that I'm using this on my scalp about 1-2 times per week, all of my hair products seem to work better. My hair is soft, shiny, growing out, and looks amazing. So pleased with this I have purchased 5 bottles to keep it in stock in my cabinet, lol

I recently learned about finger detangling dry hair with oil so I wanted to try it out. I have medium long 2C/3A hair that often becomes too difficult to detangle so I end up chopping off my hair (I am a low maintenance kind of girl). So this morning , I went ahead and sectioned my hair and started adding the oil, which is slightly heavier than pure avocado oil (i.e. quite light), For each section I used about a dime size and starting working through my hair. It took me roughly 20 minutes to finger-detangle my whole head. There was one problematic section that took longer than the others. I braided my hair into 5 sections and let oil sit about 15 minutes. Then hopped into shower and conditioned the strands and it was so slick and slip, i loved it. I'm so glad I discovered dry finger-detangling with oil, it is a great method!!! Perhaps I won't need to chop off my hair anytime soon. I also wanted to say the smell is AMAZING.. it has a lemon fresh scent.

I love pretty much all of Aunt Jackie’s products for my hair type ***3c edges that grow into 2b/c as the hair gets longer***but this one gets a 3.7/3.8 from me. It smells nice-ish, though a bit heavily scented for my taste, but my issue isn’t the smell, it’s that it’s a SUPER heavy oil. As an aside , it’s rather nice as a hand and elbow cream.🤷🏽‍♀️😬 My hands are extra dry from washing them all the time and this stuff is like mothers milk for my ashy bits. I need only use one or two drops, rub it in my palms and I can put it over my entire head including my scalp and also moisturize my hands AND elbows!👀 I tried using it as a daily oil as recommended, and it worked at first because my hair was SO DRY, but after regular use it’s become far too heavy even if used extra sparingly and even if used only on my scalp and edges,it weighed my hair down making it greasy. It’s great for use as a pre poo or hot oil treatment though! The first time I used it I used waaaay too much and it took forever to wash out, but if I primarily put it on my super dry edges and ends for a pre poo, it really moisturizes and washes out in about 2 washes. I won’t give it 4 or 5 stars because of the smell and heaviness. If this was marketed as just a pre poo or hot oil treatment, I’d give it 4.5 stars but since it’s supposed to double as a daily growth oil, 3.7/8 stars it is.🤷🏾‍♀️ I actually prefer just the curl la la for shine, curl activation and moisture, and I still use my jojoba mainstay for a bit more luster,but it works as a pre-poo and hot oil treatment so it does have it’s uses!
