Always Comes With Me
I bought this tarp with the intention of switching to hammock camping, and a tarp is necessary in the drizzly PNW. The first time I used it, however, was on a backpacking trip where I knew we would have a tent but thought I should bring it anyway, on a whim. We were caught in a downpour! Thankfully this was quick to set up (first time!) and allowed us to build a campfire (with enough clearance) and fit all three of us underneath to cook, eat, keep our packs dry, and play a game of UNO. A much less miserable trip! I took it on a solo hammock trip and it saved me once again. I had enough coverage for my hammock setup AND space to cook up my dinner, bone-dry. Woke up in the morning completely dry, the tarp covered the length of my hammock perfectly and with a nice view of the river below to wake up to.The guylines have good length, they worked wonderfully with trekking poles where trees were too spread out, and with some pre-planning, it's really quite simple to pack up in the morning. I use a ridgeline for extra support, but honestly it doesn't even need it with enough tension. The stitching looks solid, not only am I impressed, I have no concerns of ripping out the stitches when I tighten it up. Considering the price compared to other bigger brand names, I thought I would be sacrificing weight, but am pleasantly surprised at how light it is. The stakes are also super light yet quite sturdy, I wouldn't even switch them out, as a backpacker concerned with weight. A combination of durability, light-weight, and affordability is certainly hard to come by in outdoor products.I definitely recommend Wise Owl Outfitters to folks, friends and passing hikers have inquired about my tarp. The folks at Wise Owl even checked up on my purchase soon after I bought it to see if I was satisfied or had any questions. This business seems genuinely invested in providing affordable yet quality products. You can just tell this business is run by people who also love the outdoors. Plus, I like their logo and color options :)

Excelent quality, low price. Don't waste your money on a more expensive brand.
Well built. I bought a Wise Owl hammock two years ago for camping. Went with Wise Owl because the quality seemed good and the products were a lot cheaper than the popular ones. I figured if hammock camping was just a fad my son would grow out of soon I wouldn't be out that much money for the hammocks. Two years later he hasn't grown out of it so it became time to upgrade. Went shopping again looked at all the popular and expensive brands. I visited local outfitters and REI to examine their wares. Looked at dozens of hammock kits on Amazon. My research led me back to Wise Owl and I was not disappointed. I purchase mosquito nets and flies. The flies are extremely well built. All edges are double sewn with stress points. You don't just tie the line to the corner. Adjustable cord tensioners make adjustment easy. The tarp is long and wide enough to provide good shelter from the sun and rain. It can be used with or without poles. Hiking sticks can be used to help configure it to meet the needs of your location. My only complaint is the length of the stakes. The soil where I spend most of my time is sand and they just aren't long enough. Fortunately I keep a supply of longer stakes. The SnugNet is a quality product. It can be packed into its attached bag in a way it can be installed over the hammock without fully removing it. Great for keeping it from dragging on the ground and possible snagging. The zippers are light to pull and do not snag on the fabric. It's bad enough when the tent zipper snags in the middle of the night when you got to go. It can be dangerous in a hammock. Fortunately not a worry with this bug net. At my normal hammock hanging height the net just touched the ground. Next time I'll hang the hammock a few inches higher and it should solve the problem. The only thing I would like to see added to this net is a loop of fabric on the inside top to clip a small flashlight.

Tarp is great, Excellent customer support.
Update: In addition to new tie down ropes I received another rainfly, stakes, and wire gate carabiners. Additionally some very gracious written correspondence. I wish more companies worked this hard for my business. I’m adding another star for outstanding customer service.Update: I’m adding a star for excellent customer service, Wise Owl is shipping me new replacement cords, no questions asked. The tarp itself works fine. The cords that come with are already kinking and fraying after only one stormy night. I would have appreciated integrated cord pockets but alas this tarp has none. That being said this tarp kept me and my hammock reasonably dry during a very windy and rainy night. I would buy it again.

Nice fly!
I was able to test out this rain fly on a little kayak outting, waiting out a passing thunderstorm on an island. Wind really picked up but all the stakes and lines stayed put. The rain was beading off nicely too. Will be using this on a 3 day backpacking trip in the White Mountains this weekend.Update: had a torrential downpour on my white mtn trip, but this fly completely stood to the test. Didn't get a drop on me, and had a huge sq. Footage of dry ground under me that I kept my boots and pack, honestly could have had someone with a bag sleeping under me. Took me about 3 minutes to set up once I tied a bowline knot at the end of each guy line to hold onto the stakes / loop around trees. The adjustable plastic doo-hickeys at each connection point are god-send in pulling this fly taught.. Highly recommended.

Super easy set up!
I was just able to use this rain tarp for the first time. It did not rain during the night but a day time storm came through and everything stayed nice and dry beneath the tarp. It's important to center it right and if expecting rain I wouldn't space out the sides too wide. Keeping it more narrow in case it starts raining sideways. The stakes are pretty durable, though my second camp site had a super hard ground in which I ended up bending two of the stakes. Bringing a small mallet may help in those cases. I do find this to be on the pricey end, however I've seen my friend's rain tarp which was much less, and sadly also lacked the ease of setting it up and the overall quality you get with Wise Owl. I am a fan of the company and can definitively recommend this product!

Rain Fly Tarp - By Wise Owl
Product is as expected great quality and it is big. I got to set it up works great when setup right. It is not 5 stars because I have not tested for rainproof, but great for sunny shade. I did a small spot pouring an ounze of water on it seem to be rain proof. I didn't soak it because I didn't want to soak the whole thing to get an inaccurate test, the rain will give a better idea. I do recommend this product from this company Wise Owl. Great service and delievered quickly even during COVID. When I test it in the rain which is unpredictable in my area will give 5 stars. Worth the money.

Heavy duty and light weight
I was giddy with excitement whenmy new Owl OUTfitter Tarp arrived today in the mail just in time for a sneaky weekend in the rainforest. The forecast of rain didn't deter me, and actually made my excitement levels rise as i knew I would get a chance to experience all this tarp had to offer. The tarp is a 11ft by 9ft tarp with 210T ripstop material weighing in at 520 grams with pegs and only costing me 80 Australian dollars. The rain was light through walk but I knew I must erect my tarp quickly. I strung up my ridgeline and swung the tarp over. I was first impressed by the workmanship and detail taken, with double stitching, and sewn in corners that allowed use with a walking pole to quickly and easily pitch in porch mode. I peg out the tarp on one side, slipped my poles securely into the sewn holes and i was set kust as the heavy rain set in. Next was my hammock. The tarp continued to impress now with its size as my 11 ft hammock fit easily underneath with room to hang my pack at one end keeping it high and dry.Sitting under the tarp and listening to the pitter papper I felt dry and peaceful. I noticed that the tarp didnt sag and the water beaded nicely. Even under the intense downfall i experienced overnight it didnt falter or give up its defense line from the onslaute of rain. For a budget tarp, it performs like a true professional standing proudly. The ripstop material is strong and durable and i can Imagine this tarp serving me for years to vome. Its cleaver design is functional and light weight and allows for many pitching options. You cant go past it for performance, features or price.
