Great kite - flies beautifully and easily.
A very good kite, took a few minutes only to assemble. And takes off and flies perfectly. Single line, so not a stunt kite, but if you are looking for something for novices and grandchildren. Just takes off and flies.

Excellent performance and value
Easy to assemble and fly's really well even in relatively light wind. To be honest I wasn't really expecting to much at this price but its really good and we returned home from a couple of hours flying with it as good as new....excellent

User/Product issues hampered the fun
The intent was to use this on the beach. I'd even prepped the kite ahead of time to avoid fiddling with the setup and dropping pieces in the sand, etc. It was a particularly windy day, nothing crazy but enough to not worry about launching a kite. The issue was that in bringing the kite out of the car to take from car park to beach (100 metres or so) the kite was pretty keen to take off - holding on to the two fibreglass pole that run horizontally across the kite appeared to be the worst thing I could do as the wind managed to get the better of one of the poles - splitting it at the end. Fibreglass splinters everywhere, etc. I actually managed to cut the splintered end off and had the kite pole still be long enough to fit - but only for 5 more mins of flying before the same pole split again. Was it a quality control issue or poor handling by the user?I'm really not sure.Either way I'm now another customer that has to go and source a random fibreglass pole or two in the hopes of not wasting an otherwise perfectly usable kite.

Its big and looks good but...
Even though I bought this for the grandchildren I was desperate to get this in the air. After much anticipation and a bit of struggle putting the thing together, a moderately windy day arrived and two of us (adults) set off for the maiden flight. To cut a disappointingly short story even shorter, it went up but not very far, came down and never flew again. The first time the kite made contact with the ground the main spar snapped and we were left with a colourful but non-airworthy pile of cloth and plastic. It is a really great looking kite and I'm sure its a great flyer but the plastic spars just don't seem to be up to the job.

Be the king of the park! Be me.
About 6 years ago I would walk through my local park and without fail i would spot him! The new dad with the kite. I'd stop and watch, wishing for a successful maiden flight but knowing the likelihood and more amusing outcome would be a total failure no matter how many times he ran (slowly) with the kite above his head to give it some momentum. After a few attempts the public embarassment in front of the small crowd of onlookers would be too much and he would pack up the kite and exclaim to the child "its not windy enough buddy"Fast forward to last month, I'm now a father of a girl who is nearly 3. Mary Poppins in on and the ending is playing. Kites! Kites everywhere. All flying with the greatest of ease, up, up to the highest heights!I want to fly a kite daddy!Oh no!I pictured me, now that father in the park, failing hard in front of that small crowd.Onto Amazon, read reviews of this albatross of a kiteI cant fail at this task with this kite.We flew the maiden voyage today and it was magnificent. I saw fathers, who had failed this tasks previously, watch me walk towards a clear spot in the park with this large bright kite(shes big)Some were silently hoping for my success, many more my downfall.I stand there, the wind picks up, i release....I SOAR!Audible gasps could be heard, people pointing, showing there kids this king of a father flying a kite with ease.I get cocky and summon my child who i had advised to stay a few feet back in case the kite was a little unrulely. She ran over and i gingerly hand her the controls.I keep a hold of the string, take a deep breath and let it go.My kid is flying this thing on her own and not stuggling either, not watching it slowly descend, she is actually flying it and did so for 10 minutes. At that point she let go and the kite took off. I began to run after it. Some comeuppance for my arrogance? Perhaps, but I managed to retrieve it and walked back to my delighted daughter.I ruled the park today.Just buy this thing, its unreal.Dont be that dad in the park from my youth, be me!
