Good value light and timer
Perfect light for my hermit crab setup. Light temperature is adjustable enough to get the light I wanted and the timer has worked flawlessly. I’ve set it and haven’t had to worry about it. Also nice that the light fairly gradually comes on and off and not an abrupt shift.

Great light, great features & a fair price.
Light has done great in my tank. Bought this when I first set this tank up almost a year ago & haven’t had any issues so far. I typically turn the tank light on as part of my morning routine, but love the timer feature for when I go on vacations. I got this light for a 55g & seldom use the full brightness as it is VERY bright. I do use the blue lights as a night light for a few hours a night, I have one “glow” Cory cat that they accidentally gave me but I kept, they are really easy to find when using that 😂 This light is a 10/10 in my book, and absolutely worth the money.

Great for the price.
Bought this for a new 29 gallon tank. It works well. The light is BRIGHT if you do not turn it down. I taped the sliders so that they do not extend too far and fall in the tank. If I have any complaint it is that the timer does not know what time it is. If I want it to light from noon to 10PM I have to be there at noon and set the 10 hour button. Then it will go on for ever. The newer model has a real clock timer but is much more expensive. For the price it is great. This thing is WAY better than the fluorescent lights we used in the old days.

Overall good middle of the road light
Pros: - good hardware quality and look - great lighting spectrum quality - It is pretty resilient to general wear and tear Cons: - I have found that after a while I will need to reset the timer because it gradually starts turning on later and later and or stays on for shorter and shorter time periods until it stops turning on all together and I'm force to reset it. - wish it an 8 hr setting

Great regardless of experience level, comparable to fluval
I’ve had this light for a while now. A few years. It’s handled a few drops, a free sinking incidents, and it’s still holding up strong! It works great, i love the customization of light settings and it’s very bright if you crank it up. Super easy to assemble and add to any tank. The timer feature is also very reliable, I’ve never had an issue outside of the rare power outage resetting the start time. Once it’s on it’s on well, very stable and sturdy. The only reason mine has sank is because it wasn’t an optimal placement. I’d buy this again! I noticed a steady improvement in my aquatic plants after installation, and my fish seem to enjoy the gradual ramp up and decrease when the timer turns the light on and off. Way less jarring than flipping a switch and suddenly plunging into darkness!

Es Perfecto
Update: I struggled to use the timer. I would set the light to the brightness and color that I needed, and then I would click the timer button. It would turn the light OFF! Now I feel dumb. Pressing the timer button essentially is also starting the whole cycle. I was dong step number one correctly: make the color and intensity as i wanted it. Then, I clicked the timer three times to bring me to the 12-hour duration. But every click turned my light off, so I thought it was defective. No (you dummy- me). Yes, it goes black because it is starting the cycle and will slowly climb or ramp up to the color and intensity that I just previous had. Theoretically. Then, it will run its course and shut off automatically. Theoretically. I have not actually tried this. I got frustrated and revisited the many videos. Now, I suspect that if I turn my light on, when I wake up, and click the timer button 3 times, it'll be dark, but I can shower, brush my teeth and get dressed for work and by that time (manual says 15 minutes; but it does not explain the process of setting the timer; it only says press this button and that it is user friendly; yeah right!), the light should have reached the designated levels -- I am hoping! If it remains black, I have a dud. I'll be trying this process tomorrow morning and will update again. My schedule fluctuates; so, I thought I shouldn't use the timer because I wanted to see my tank in the sporadic moments that I was home, I realize that my plants need a routine schedule...if I want them to grow well. My schedule doesn't matter anymore. I'll never grow more that 5'4" lol. I figure that i can always just turn it back on to feed my fish and enjoy the aquarium for an hour, then turn the light off, and I think that the timer should not be affected -- that it should start back up the next morning. Tomorrow night, I will do just that: come home at night, turn the light on and off. I'll see, the morning after, if the timer is still set. OR maybe you set the time and are never allowed to touch another button or else you'll have to reset everyday. IDK, but I will tell you what happens. ******************** I live in Hawaii and it's a risk for us to have anything "delicate" shipped to us, but this arrived fine. I have not used the timer function, yet. But the control that you have over the brightness and colors, especially the actinic blue lights. is amazing. The control panel also allows for easy on and off. It appears to be made of quality materials and of quality construction, so I am happy. This is perfect for my low-light planted aquarium with Pseudomugil signifers, Cardinal Tetras, Black Phantom Tetras, Anubias plants and ferns. It is just perfect.

Great lights for my 30 gallon fresh water tank.
I had an old fluorescent tank light and it was getting too hard to find replacement bulbs. Decided to try the new LED strip lights and it was a great choice. The prices is reasonable and the strip is lightweight and easy to place on tank. There are multiple settings for color and 10 intensity levels. I only needed to be on level 3 to project a very bright light. Other users commented that they plugged into a timer and the intensity reset to the highest level, I did not have that problem. The light strip is connected to my electronic timer and it turns on at the same intensity level I had previously set. Overall, very happy with the LED tank light strip, will have to see how long the lights last but I usually do not have issues with LED types of lights and lifespan.

The light appears good but the timer function is pointless.
Right away Im confused. there are two references to the timer function, one is more clear about what really happens. Here is a quote from the item description on Amazon: Power off memory function. This aquarium led light use IC memorizer, after the light resumes work, the setting of fish tank led light will not lost. It will restart the counting time after the power is turn on. The printed/included instructions clarify if the power goes off the light will start at the beginning of the on-time cycle and it says if it was 3 hours into the 6 hr timer when the power goes off it will start at the beginning of 6 hours when the power comes back on. I did a real-life test and found the results terrible and potentially shocking to a tank of fish. 1. You have to turn the timer on at the exact time you want it to come on every day. You cannot “program” it. 2. You only have one chance to set color levels. It says the timer will reset, which means you have to be there at start time the next day. Oh and you would have to manually put it to sleep that night. 3. While the timer cycle was off middle of the night I simulated a momentary power outage. Lets say you needed to unplug the light for a minute to move the wire….when power comes back on the light starts its wake up cycle….yup, right then in the middle of the night. What does this mean? It means you have to pull out the old manual timer and use that to set your start time just like before with your old technology fluorescent light. If you don’t and there is a momentary power interruption your fish could potentially have 20 hours of light and 10pm could potentially become your new wake up time. My plan is to set a manual timer to come on at 10AM and off at 7PM (9 hours), I will set the timer on this contraption for 8 hours. that allows time for a full wake up fade and shut down fade. Im sorry, with all the battery backup options available on circuit boards they could have designed the circuit to resume normal programming right where it was. This controller was not built as needed, it is what someone designed without considering intended usage. So far the light works well, mine does not run hot. The metal extender legs are a little loose but sufficient. be careful if using this over a tank with no lid! you can easily tank your light! for the record I purchased the 10watt version. For the price its fine.
