Excellent read and resource. Well worth the price
This book was obviously written by someone who has been doing the trade for a long time. It is well organized. He begins with an introduction about himself then starts the book out from a little horse philosophy, approaching the horse, handling the horse as gently as possible. Goes over the tools of the trade and his experiences with them. I got this book to trim my own horses hoofs and I've learned a lot just to chapter 3. I do recommend you start at the beginning and read it through. It is a great reference book also.. It has a really nice horse shoe index in the back of the book. Mr. Don Haskins has done a superb job putting this into print.

Great book!
I bought this book for my boyfriend who is a farrier. He found a lot of helpful tips in this book along with new ideas that he didn't learn in school. He even used one of the behavior modification tips yesterday and it worked great! He also appreciates how the author writes in a very simple, straight forward way that is easy to understand.

Pretty good entry level hoof care book
Pretty good entry level hoof care book. If you’re looking for more in-depth info about all the ailments of the hoof you may need to search for another technical book but works for the average horse owner

This book is great to really inform any person on some important details ...
As I changed farriers and also got a new horse who has some hoof issues , I realized how much I just let my shoer do without asking or learning why. This book is great to really inform any person on some important details of farriery. I will pass it on to my new farrier who is young and working alot. Good tricks and theories that he may be able to use.

Excellent book about Horseshoeing!
This is a great book, and the author Don knows what he is talking about. I don't shoe my own horse, but I wanted to be able to inspect my farrier's work and make sure he was doing a good job. This book helped me learn how to do that. Highly recommended.
