If it is on USB power alone, it is more prone to glitch out or go fuzzy, but most of the time there's no issues.

Connected the product between an old Toshiba DVD player and my Samsung 4K TV per instructions. That much was very easy; just make sure you have an HDMI cable, which is not included. Verified all connections and power, but all I got was no signal detected on the TV HDMI port that I connected it to. I understand the convertor doesn't support 4K, but the TV is capable of detecting and displaying lower resolution video automatically. For some reason the signal isn't getting through. My biggest issue is that the seller included an email address for service which said that a response would be sent within 5 hours. I sent an email requesting help 3 days ago, but no response. This product will be returned if I don't get a response ASAP that helps me fix the problem.Update: Company contacted me and apologized for the delay in response. After attempting to help me make it work, they refunded my money AND DID NOT REQUIRE ME TO RETURN THE PRODUCT. I still give them a 1 for product functionality, but a 5 for Customer Service for an overall score of 3.

I bought this to use with a second-hand Wii which I purchased. The Wii comes with only a composite video cable (yellow, red, white plugs) but most TVs today don't have the composite video input so it needs to be converted. This converter works great and even has a 720-to-1080 switch for upscaling. It does need a power supply -- it comes with a USB cable so any USB power adapter will work with it. It draws very little power but it is necessary for the conversion to HDMI at either resolution. Since the native output of the Wii is only 480, it would look very grainy without a good conversion. This unit is very good in that regard. I haven't used it with anything else, but I see no reason to suspect it won't be equally great with other devices.

I needed a box so I could plug in my old DVD player, which uses the red, white and yellow plugins, into my new TV which only has an HDMI plugin. The only problem was my USB port on the TV is service only and I did not have another USB port to plug the box into. Arrived in a neat package and hooked up easily to my devices though.

First of all, this converter does exactly what the product description says. It takes your RCA signal and outputs it to HDMI. It does NOT upscale your RCA signal, it merely makes it to where you can display your RCA cabled devices via HDMI. If you are expecting to connect your N64, PS2, VCR, or older game console and get up-scaled HDMI quality, prepare to be disappointed. I'm not bashing the product, it does what it is supposed to do, I knew what it did ahead of time and knew what to expect. But if you just need a cheap way to get your RCA signal to HDMI then I highly recommend this device.

I got this to standardize all of my video game systems to one input (HDMI) and I was able to connect my sega cd to my 4k tv no problem. It does stretch it so its a little blurrier then usual but thats because its a 32 bit game stretched!

I have my Nintendo 64 hooked into this adaptor and it works great, however the audio will go out occasionally. Disconnecting it from the TV / Power / Source Input and reconnecting seemed to remedy the problem, but I am afraid this may happen a lot and could be bothersome.

Quality OK :) I have my The Nintendo Entertainment System (commonly abbreviated as NES) and SEGA Genesis hooked into this adaptor and it works great So far it has worked every time on the start, No issues with static or distortion.
