100 percent Natural Boar Hair from Germany
It's February 8,,2025 but we're going to buy two more, don't know the difference with calcutta and the other one I can't find 2 of 3 brushes, my favorite for Brandy, golden retriever she loves when I brush her red coat not like 6 to 10 years ago but that brush it's the $19 more oval deeper bristles just bought one, Belula brushes, but these are more pocket friendly. Wished I could get it overnight💯impossible..100% Natural Boar Bristle Hairbrush for Healthy Hair - Gentle Care, Made in Germany as I've purchased 6 of these plus the other variations of this same hair brushes, as I've used it for myself and Brandy my golden retriever that loves it when I brush her long hair, she's 12 years old now, and I love brushing her hair with these well made brushes that's made in Germany. I also bought a different one, for either of us, and I know we both will really like them. And what made my experience even better was Amazon customer service, her name is a hard one to pronounce, so I asked her if I could call her Sugar. She got for me, the $14, or $15 credit to my Amazon gift card and also got for me and Brandy, a promotional credit, I think ot was for around another $24.00 & I was a happier customer. It's not about the $14.00 but it's how the chat system worked and I was not very happy especially spending excessive time but with all this aside, I can start brushing Brandy's hair, and even my own hair as well. Maybe at a later time, I will display those brushes and explain how it takes out tangles with easy strokes, with smoothness. Love those brushes, bought so many of them throughout the past few years at least! Gary and Brandy of Kaneohe, Hawaii as again I will come back to show off my hair brushes! Thanks Amazon customer service because od Sugar Lady January 14, 2024 Wednesday night!!

These brushes are magic!!!
I've actually purchased 2 of these brushes so I can have one for my purse. My hair is silkier, shinier & I'm not losing as much hair when I brush my hair daily or wash it. Totally worth the cost & I highly recommend.

Quality! My granddaughters are obsessed with them! I’ve purchased 3.
Like everything about it. It’s light to hold, smooths hair and love the butterfly detail. Also love the longevity and history behind the company.

A few observations worth noting.
For a long, long time (maybe 15 years?) I have been using a synthetic brush from Sally Beauty Supply with bristles that are similar in length, spacing and firmness to the Calcutta. I always really liked it for my fine hair as it breaks easily and the bristles grab loose hairs and prevent them from falling on me or onto the floor. I'm glad I went with the Calcutta both for the above reason and because I appreciate that the bristles are firm enough to reach my scalp. The softer brush made by this manufacturer would have been too soft to accomplish that and I wouldn't have liked it (my boyfriend has a boar-bristle brush with soft bristles and they just seem to bend when I run it over my hair and barely grab anything). The bristles on this brush are a bit prickly, but probably a necessary feature for reaching the scalp. I don't much care for the handle; the wood is very lightweight and dry feeling. For the cost of the brush I wish it had a little more heft and a glossy finish which would have made it a little grippier. I will likely add a few coats of varnish, being careful to wrap the bristles beforehand. This will also make the wood more tolerant to water exposure and cleaning. Overall, though, I like this brush, and after manually pulling the oils from my scalp to my ends with my fingers, this brush finished the job nicely, distributing the oils more evenly throughout my hair (it is a fine-textured, medium thickness chin-length bob).As far as price, I'm a pretty frugal person, but I figured a brush like this is something of an investment so I wanted one I wouldn't have to replace in 2 or 3 years (ultimately spending more than I would have on this brush). The manufacturer also seems like it will be around for a while. In summary, it is my opinion that unless one has a very short, thin head of hair or a super sensitive scalp this is the brush to buy.

BRUSH THAT PAMPERS YOUR HAIR AND SCALP
I tried a boar bristle brush years ago, but it was much too soft and was better suited for a baby. But THIS brush is fantastic! I have fine hair and now that I’m in my early 60’s I don’t have as much of it anymore. The bristles on this brush are such a perfect pliability that it feels like a massage on my scalp and I find myself brushing for longer. One of the best things about this brush is that I’ve noticed that after brushing, I have very few hairs to clean off of the bristles! When you are losing your hair for one reason or another, this is a welcome blessing. It’s a beautiful colored wood with a beautiful etched butterfly, feels great in my hand and I love that the bristles are secured directly into the wood. I really appreciate the quality that goes into making such a beautifully crafted hairbrush and that it makes me feel like I’m pampering my hair and scalp.

Not your regular hair brush
This brush consists of ONLY boar bristles, and they are tightly spaced. That means that you cannot comb through to the scalp like you would with nylon brushes that are spaced farther apart. It also means that you are not ripping your hair out. I have found that if I brush my hair in sections the brush glides through much easier and I can really see a difference in how my hair looks and feels afterwards. Natural boar bristles add shine and manageability to my often overly dry hair, and that alone is worth the extra effort to me. Actually, if you watch movies like "Little Women" and pay attention to how they brush their hair, you will see that this is exactly how these brushes are to be used. Remember Scarlett O'Hara, 100 brush strokes nightly? This is the brush to do it with.
