Received Friday evening and I've already used it twice!
Just received my Pet Stain Eraser Friday evening; it's Sunday morning and I used it twice. I have two indoor cats, one of which frequently spits up hair balls, etc. The other cat occasionally has accidents and it drives me crazy. I was concerned in that I purchased a used unit (the unit looks perfect the box was trashed) that did not come with the manual. I was able to download the manufal from Bissell.com and watch the instructional video. So far so good, it's better and more efficient than the scrubbing wipes and hand held steamer I previously used to clean up pet messes. It does leak a little but that could be due to my operating it for the first time at 1:30 a.m. in the morning. Happy with my purchase. I plan to get a lot of use out of it.

The Unit Is Very Easy To Use And Does A Good Job But The Detergent Tanks Leaks All Of The Contents Out In Two Different Units
I bought two of these to replace two Bissell Spot Lifters. They are much easier to use and do a good job. The dirty water tank is much easier to remove than the tank on the Spotlifter. The problem I have is with the detergent tanks that leak. I fill them up with fluid and reinstall in the unit and can come back 1/2 hour later and the tanks are completely empty. This happens with both units and with 4 different tanks. I have probably lost two 32 oz. bottles of cleaner due to the leak. I an currently using a separate spray bottle for the detergent then vacuuming it with the PetStain Eraser.Bissell sent me two extra tanks due to another issue but they all leak. I have tried to resolve this with Bissell email support but they don't seem to understand. Their last email suggested not leaving fluid in the tank between uses. That is nonsense.

Best investment ever for saving my carpets
I don't know how I'd survive without this. It arrived just a couple of days before my dog had a stomach bug. I was going out of town with her and I was able to bring this with me, thereby saving the motel's carpets. She continued to have diarrhea for another 3 weeks but the Pet Stain Eraser saved the floors every time. Everything came out. And it is wonderful for sucking up urine before it soaks through. I'm not sure why others complain about the charge. Mine lasts forever. It does run through soap quickly but with the messes I've been dealing with, I'm also using a lot of the cleanser. I appreciate that it's light weight enough that I can go from room to room without pushing the big carpet cleaner out of the closet and around the apartment. I've been experiencing back issues so using the traditional rug cleaner would be impossible right now. This, however, is a perfect size. And it works great on coffee, too, as I learned this morning after knocking an entire full cup off of my desk. To look at my carpets ow, you'd never know there had been a horrible mess several hours earlier. Thank you Bissell!!

Handy, very useful
I like it. I just bought it so I’m not sure about the “test of time” but I’ve use it quite a bit already. It’s very easy to use. I bought for the sole purpose of cleaning a chair though, not just spots. It is intended for spot cleaning (it does a great job) so the compartments for solution and water are small (understandable so). Overall, I’d recommend this to other ppl. In fact I bought this for my mom for her birthday.

Design is good but suction power is not effective
I'm really struggling to get this to function as described. I will say it seems nicely built and it is very easy to clean (which is a good thing since if you don't rinse everything out after EACH use it will very likely get filthy and odorous). My biggest problem is the suction power. I have a spot in my carpet where my 80 lb dog just urinated recently (about a 6 in x 6 in spot). After using a black light I found old stains in the area not visible to the naked eye. My purchase of this was to clean and deodorize any new spots and the old patch (which is covering about 1.5 ft x 4 ft). Unfortunately, you can see how big the cleaning solution reservoir when is when full, as compared to how much liquid was actually sucked up after using up the entire reservior (a MINISCULE amount). The cleaned carpet is still quite moist afterwards. I have extremely standard not-that-plush carpeting. I think I was expecting this to act as a tiny portable steam carpet cleaner (minus the steam) that would leave the carpet CLEAN, ODOR-FREE, and just BARELY damp. I would've expected a majority of the cleaner and certainly some of the urine to come back up (I pre-blotted the urine spot before using this cleaner but it was still moist). The device comes with two tiny bottles of cleaner (each one fills the reservior precisely once). It did indeed take almost 4 hours to fully charge the first time. I got about 15 minutes of cleaning time (split between two different attempts over 2 days). It sounds short but for spot cleaning it's more than enough. The reservior pulls up and out and must be seated back in tightly when replacing. The clear nozzle cover pops off for easy rinsing. The waste water reservior pops out NOT very easily (especially if you have ANY cleaner on your fingers or your hands are wet there isn't much to grab to hold onto to pull it out). The plug for the waste water reservior is a PAIN in the neck. Its very tight which is good but it takes me at least 1-2 minutes to get it to pop closed as one half wants to go in and the other pushes in but them pops out. Really hurts the thumbs after a while of fighting with it. You can (and will want to) rinse the front ramp of the device after you remove the front clear view portion since both get covered in gunk. Beware, if you've removed the waste reservior and you rinse the front ramp, the water will come out the bottom so make sure the whole thing is over your sink. The brush pops out and is easy to clean thankfully as mine got very gunked up with dog hair each use despite twice weekly vacuuming.I've followed instructions to the letter and have even tried leaning most of my weight into it to keep the mouth part flush and firm against the carpet but I'm just not happy with the suction. There's still an odor to the section of carpet despite three times now I've gone over it. I bought a large bottle of Bissell 2x to try as well with no better results (you can see in pic the difference in sizes of the bottles that come with it and the large standard size). I pre-treated and scrubbed with SCOE 10x before using this product and followed its directions exactly as well but there really is no one perfect product or device (that I've found yet). So far I've used an entire spray bottle of SCOE 10X and the two mini bottles of Bissel cleaner AND 1/3 of the Bissell large bottle and I can still smell the odor when I come into the room. As a veterinarian and the owner of a older half shepherd who is both reverting to puppy hood and spitefully when I leave on my days off, I'm REALLY hoping to find something eventually that works (at least until I can afford to buy a home in which there will be absolutely NO carpet and a doggy door!)
