works in turtle tank
using in 40 gallon turtle tank with about 10 gallons water, holds temp at the setting of 78 deg, indicator light comes on once in a while when heating, my big girl has not yet been able to damage the heater or pull it loose from bottom of tank, so far so good, have tried 3 other brands over the last 10 years.
