What do you expect 🤣
Hello all, I’m a WiFi technician, you can’t expect large results for the price. I can’t go realistically on a vacation for 95% percent off. As I tell my customers in WiFi terminology speed, what you pay is what you get. This is an ok, good, and awesome extender and will do the job for most of you, It’s not about how many devices are connected but really depends for what you use WiFi for and how many use it at the same time. This WiFi extender isn’t mesh, mesh means you don’t have to log off of the Host Router and log into the extender, you stay connected within the same WiFi network. This is not a mesh it’s a basic extender, meaning you have to log off of the host router and log into this none mesh extender meaning it cuts your speeds in half. Mesh extenders do not cut your speeds in half. Also, either mesh or none mesh extenders, I’ll show you how to get top speeds.Download a speed tester on your phone device, I choose Speedtest by Ookla, gives better results. Before connecting the WiFi extender. Do a speed test next to the host internet router, speeds can’t get any better since your next to the host‼️. Now go to the area which is the last place further away from the host router. Do a speed test there. If your speeds were poor or can’t reach, try the next room before closer to the host router. If speeds were better then try connecting the extender there. If extender is not giving good results even though WiFi bars are full try connecting extender in a different area within the room location otherwise try moving the extender a little closer to the host router. This practice will provide top speeds.Never install extender to far away from the host router, this can provide ugly speeds even though WiFi 🛜 bars are full. Now if it’s a mesh extender, same principle applies but don’t install mesh booster to close to the host router otherwise you may be connecting to the mesh extender and will provide slower speeds because host router will always be faster then a mesh or none mesh extender. What can reduce WiFi 🛜 range, water pipes, bricks, concrete, sheet metal, logs, marble etc.If your trying to get better range with top speeds from one room to another and there’s a bathroom in between, water pipes will reduce WiFi. So then try installing extender away from the bathroom. Test as you go.I don’t use speed test to check for best place, I use a WiFi value gauge meter. This never ends in explaining. Most important is you get the point in what I’m saying. Best of wishes to all.If any misspelled words, my apologies, I was texting fast.

Not amazing, but improvements for sure.
I live on a hill and have no wifi issues within the house, but trying to sit on the backyard patio that's down a hill about 30 yards away is another issue. Always spotty connections outside, definitely no video streaming happening. So I thought I'd dive into this extender idea and see if it solved this problem. I have to admit, right out of the box, this feels like the cheapest plastic ever, so don't expect a robust high quality vibe for this price. The initial set up of the unit next the router was a snap, but then it took some experimenting with extension cords to figure out where to place the extender on the back side of the house so that it would transmit all the way down the hill. 3-5 location tests later, and I found the best I can get is 2 bars max at the desired patio lounge area no matter where I placed it. As I walk back toward the extender, I only get to 3 bars when I am within about 15-20 feet of the it, which is shocking. Not sure I buy the 12880 foot range they talk about, but whatever. Surprisingly, it has been enough of a boost at 2 bars to stream video down where I want to be using it. Since it's not really meant to be outside and exposed, I did enclose it in a gallon ziplock bag and hid it behind a bush. So far so good. In the winter, I will just take it inside.

Good price, works as advertised, not very pretty.
The unit works as described. Setup instructions were clear and relatively easy to follow, and I was able to configure it from my phone without any special app. I have verified that it works with Star Link to extend internet service from my house to my shop (about 75 yards away) and another unit to a distant bedroom (teenage daughter who is constantly video chatting and/or doing schoolwork). My shop is a metal building and I had to position the unit with line-of-site through a window towards the house. Once the link was established, I now had Wi-Fi in my shop that appears to be as fast as the base unit. I have not done any actual connection speed tests, but I am able to stream video, music, etc.I have a few minor negatives:1. The physical size of the unit and the antennas block any other access to the wall outlet. Although the antennas can be repositioned, it still does not provide enough space to access the other socket when plugged in directly to the wall.2. The LED's are surprisingly bright - too bright if you are used to sleeping in a dark room. This could probably be covered with tape fairly easy, or possibly use it in place of a nightlight.3. It's not very pretty. Due to the layout of my house, there is only one practical place to plug in the unit to provide service to the farthest bedroom and not have the LED's disturb my daughter's sleep. This happens to be in a highly visible location and does not coordinate with existing decor. My wife's first response was a sideways look and, "What... is... that? Can't you put it somewhere else?"(I'm that guy that frequently makes her roll her eyes and sigh out loud. I'll put it on an extension cord and hide it behind something, but I'll let the new wear off first.)Overall, for the price and features, I liked the first unit enough to buy a second one for the shop. As far as the looks and size of it, I cannot complain as this is somewhat evident from the pictures. The negatives are not enough to outweigh the service it provides.
