The book and the documentary offer “must read and must see” true stories about a most exceptional horse trainer, a horse with extraordinary talents, their love for one another, and a post World War Two immigrant family that achieved greatness. I can sum up my review best by suggesting that an audience member is well-advised to keep a box of tissues nearby. A great tale for young and old alike, and a reminder to believe in oneself and the good in others.

This is such a wonderful story. Any horse person can appreciate this wonderful horse and his true story . $80 Horse turns into a champion. I got the Breyer horse to go with this book.And there is a movie about his story. Harry and Snowman. Enjoy.

Decided to read for the afternoon couldn’t put it down. If you like animals especially horses this story is for you.

This is a bit of a sleeper. Published as a children's book as i understand it, the story concerns the fate of a man and the life he builds around horses--and Snowman himself, a non-descript, heavy, forgotten horse, by odd chance rescued right out of the slaughterer's trailer. This is a true story--the unlikely horse given a second chance by a man of mercy, and ending up a national and global jumping champion. The meaning here is so important, especially in our times: our gifts are sometimes well hidden, but with courage, mercy, hope - we may find the great things we were born to do. I'm not saying this well. The book is about hope and follow-through, and its virtue is in its meaning rather than its art. The heart of the story is a statement seldom made in our media, and we need it. Oh, we need it. God bless the man who rescued the horse, and recognized the great gift - and allowed this horse his life, and so, room for his joy.

Have had the children’s version of this book since being a young girl. Happy to have found this paperback with original pictures!! Easy read & kept me captivated throughout. A real life story with a message & happy ending.

This should be a movie, and hopefully stay true to the story!

Truly a beautiful true story for anyone to read, especially a young girl or boy who truly is interested in horses. I gave two books away as Christmas gifts after reading this amazing story that gives you hope and wonder in this horse who was given a chance at life through a spark of his eye that caught a young man. There are many meanings that you get out of the book that you will never forget. Snowman is a remarkable story of an amazing man who loved a very special horse.
