Showman Killer Vol. 3: The Invisible Woman

Having finished all three volumes, I found this series adequate in feeding my hunger for more Jodoverse, but it still leaves something to be desired. Although not "officially" existing in the same universe as The Incal, The Metabarons, The Technopriests, and Megalex, this is easily written to exist within that continuity (with its generous use of "Kublars" as money, and "Paleo" as an adverb). This would fall-in place continuity-wise as the very first chronological entry, showing a proto-version of the Technopriests and what might become The Golden Planet (for theories sake, maybe a couple thousand years before The Incal?).Overall, this has those insane Jodorowsky twists and unadulterated ultra-violence, but the story lacks some soul. The protagonist is heartless forever, and has no redemption. This three-volume series is good for rounding-out your Jodoverse collection, but you should have everything else before you try this one.

Beautiful to look at, the artwork by Fructus is just stunning and the large format printing makes these volumes a joy to behold. The story is typical enough Jodorowsky psycho-mystical-sexual and if you like him, you'll like this.

ok, but not exceptional.

Als Sohn des Omnimonarchen geben sich No und Showman Killer diesem zu erkennen, und vor seinem nahenden Tod erkennt dieser No öffentlich als seinen Erben an. Allerdings muss noch das Universum gerettet werden, dass Superhierophant und ihr Hofnarr Robbengesicht gefährden...doch dafür müsste Showman Killer seinen gesamten Goldbesitz opfern. Natürlich weigert er sich, und die Meinungsverschiedenheit mit No eskaliert zu einem offenen Kampf...Auch der letzte Band enthält wieder viele schöne Ideen von Jodorowsky und toll anzusehende Grafik von Nicolas Fructus. Für einen Jodorowsky-Comic endet die Trilogie ungewöhnlich versöhnlich, als Showman Killer sich zwar keinen Gefühlen unterordnen kann, aber schon der Logik. Wir werden sogar Zeuge einer Art von Happy End, wirklich sehr untypisch für Jodorowsky.
